Can someone explain this stat line to me. 68 Starts, 15-15 record, 285 IP It makes no sense to me. How did he get that many starts and decisions in what averages out to slightly over 4 innings per game?

You can earn the L in the first inning, and if he averaged 4 innings an outing, then it stands to reason he went the required 5 for the W at least 15 times.

What's his pitch count? A low pitch count and/or a short leash is likely here. Pull setting?

I'm guessing he started several games with a low pitch count setting and pitched an inning or two, perhaps when he was under 100% (even well under) and gave up run/s from which his team never came back. That would earn him a loss. In other games his pitch count was boosted, he went 5+ innings and the team won. In 38 other games he didn't have a decision. It would best be answered by looking at his entire season's game log.

Thanks for the game log suggestion. It looks like early he was ser low, then moved to 5.0, and in the last week moved to 6.0.

glad it helped you figure it out...

I'm not an expert at managing pitching staffs, but there were a few interesting decisions in that league. I think over using his SP in the regular season cost him a shot at winning the WS...not that I'm complaining.
