Just flip a switch, only thing that changed is the playoffs. It actually balances D1a to me, all these coaches with little clue leading elites. Expect for a handful elites aren't in the best recruiting areas. Leading to many good elites talent(not super teams anymore), but now the coaches are average to. The revenge of the Non-Elites is about to he worst then the nerds.

OMG in the past GD history he would have been gone after four seasons. That is awful at an elite.

Drop down to D2. You don't have to deal with any of that political BS with elites. Same game as 1A only better (IMO).

Mojo, If we could get a super competitive D2 World going somewhere I'd be down for it. I think with so many worlds it would be great to make a concentrated effort towards filling up a division in three worlds.

I'm as surprised as you. I went down to Secure last season, then this season I went up to VS. I'm first in line to say this looks broken.

Speaking from experience, I think you need to give coaches (in this case Napoli) a 2 year grace period and results need to come in starting year 3. I took over a Tennessee Team and the coach scheduled 5 Elites, so I played 8 in that first year (8-6). Then thinking "I'm an Elite", I scheduled really tough again (8-6). By year 3 I figured it out! I will say that at the end of my time there I went to a NC and 3 seasons later I was 8-6, losing to ALL 5 humans in the SEC. Too be honest I was embarrassed to be an Elite at 8-6 who was ONLY beating SIMs in the SEC, so I started over at WI. I'm currently Rebuilding a NE Team that the former coach didn't recruit a single player for 3 Seasons. My first roster had 3 RS Srs plus the 17 Fr I recruited. My year 3 goal is a PO spot.

I've always maintained you should get 3 seasons free and then it's pretty damn aggressive regarding you job security. Elites should have to get to level 2 of the playoffs just to maintain status and level 3 to improve it after year 3. BCS teams should have to make the playoffs to maintain status and level 2 to improve. That'd fix what everyone is b'ing about.

Or even better make elite status fluid based on a 4-5 year look back.

Try and get 60+ coaches to pick a division and grow it.

Hey, nothing against you Napoli. I remember back when an elite wins 11 games and a bowl and the next season a coach can win 12 and lose a bowl and he drops to secure. Now it's like they took all that out and only go by reputation to get elites no matter how bad you were at a previous school.

Yes but that also is where SOS comes in. If you schedule 5 elites in OOC you will more than likely have a playoff birth with a 7-6 record. Good luck on that goal. I hope you make it to the playoffs by season three.

No offense taken man, I know your comment was about the expectations system getting too soft while leaving in place the elite recruiting advantage. Nothing wrong with pointing out the disconnect. It's a problem.

I'd already applied for a different job before I saw this thread, and Florida-Warner has been open for a few cycles now. I wish success to my successor.

I should of been patient and waited, Florida would of been fun to have.
