If anyone wants to take a break from their research, here is a link to the last time we ran this league just so you can see how the draft works.

In doing my research, I notice there are some 1974 AL players listed as (UTIL) as their positions.

Those players are not eligible for your final roster since you need exactly this number of players as their primary positions, 2 c, 2 1b, 2 2b, 2 3b, 2 ss, 5 of and 10 p. There's no room on your roster for UTIL

Looking over the old thread, it did bring up a question.

For players with split seasons, it appears that the widget hands out the partial seasons. Are we allowed to take the combined season associated with that team, or only the partial season?

I believe the reason for the UTIL is because their main position was DH.(it started in 1973)
I could not find any UTIL guys on NL teams.

It's essential we are all looking at the same rosters when we draft.

The correct way to do it is to go to a blank team center page. Change where it says 2015 Anaheim Angels to whatever team you want to see.

That is who you get. There won't be multiple listings for single players. If you see a player split with two or three different versions, you are doing it wrong. If you do it the right way, you will only get the at bats or IP for what they did for that team.

People do this wrong every time we do this league and it's very frustrating when you finally work out a team and two of your players weren't eligible.

As a test, load the 1974 Mets. Do you see Benny Ayala in the outfield? If you do you're doing it the wrong way.

I had that bit figured out...I see a max of 25 players...I was just wondering about the partial vs. combined....but apparently partial it is....

Correct. Doing the roster the way I described you will never see a player's combined stats. It only shows what he did for that team.

You guys doing this for the first time will be surprised at how hard it is to put together a final roster.

Once you get your final roster, I will go through everyone's and approve it before it goes into the league.

I know it's beyond frustrating to pull your hair out for three days to finally get an $ 80 million roster that meets all these league restrictions (at least 6 players from each team, exactly primary position 2 ss and 2 2b, etc) and then have it all blown up because you were using a combined season for your backup 1B.

Round one timeslots are posted on page one. I will probably pick tomorrow.

Feel free to go early, but don't go early if someone has been skipped.

If your timeslot has come up, feel free to pick even if someone has been skipped. That's their problem.

Sorry, I just noticed the timeslots are already being posted. That feels really too soon. I didn't even get a sitemail that the league was about to draft. I've been building my WISC rosters waiting to know when we were kicking off, but I still need to research the teams. (Edit: I'm sure I can manage to make the first pick by Wednesday since it's just picking one of the top teams.)

The draft is going to take a while to complete.

An extra day or two before we start won't make any difference in the long run, so if people would rather a couple of extra days to research we can start Friday instead of Wednesday.

I'll still start off the draft tomorrow and people can go early if they're ready. It's just that they'll no doubt be a time when we're way ahead and then wait two days for a pick.

Timeslots on page one have been adjusted to give everyone an extra two days to do research. The first round pick is an important one.

Draft research looks a LOT different when you think you're picking 2nd, only to realize you're picking 15th.

Very excited to get going on this.
What time zone should I assume when planning for my draft slot?
