Small sample size in that he’s still had less than 150 innings, or does this guy actually suck somehow?

I can’t speak for previous owners, but I keep both his target and max pitch count at 10. And I have a very good defense. (Admittedly a small sample size on my team, but his previous owner was no HBD dummy.)
Ha, the famous Al Johnson. Many good owners tried and failed.

Not once they get to the majors. You can accelerate a player through the minors as you wish, but his arb clock starts when he gets to the majors and stays long enough to count his first ML season.

It makes me happy that this thread has almost reached 100 pages.

@ Mwett - I could be entirely wrong, but: I don't think any of that stuff matters. I think the only thing that determines a player's arb/FA demand is his Overall rating, the winner of arbitration is 50/50 random, and the only thing that determines willingness to re-sign or sign long term is Patience.

I've fiddled around with a few approaches to arbitration, can't tell what did or didn't make any difference, but I can honestly say I've never seen any result that made me say "wow the player was obviously ticked off at me."

So maybe this sounds stupid because everything I have ever read has said that each game, in fact every pitcher/hitter matchup is an individual trial and there is no streak component whatsoever, but.....

I have a team that is off to a smoking start through 20 games. I also have a AAA SS who would be a big upgrade over the existing one, and plan was to demote a seldom used mediocre 20 stamina reliever to bring him up. My instinct now is to leave well enough alone until I lose a few games and pull the trigger then, but otoh there should be no reason not to upgrade immediately.

Real baseball is full of superstition but HD is just about the numbers. Clubhouse chemistry or whatever isn't a factor here. Pull the trigger and if I immediately lose a few it's a coincidence.

Right?

I've never heard that before.

Right?
Right. Put the best players with the best ratings in your lineup. Nothing else will matter.

My true second round pick refused my offer of his demand. I offered a second time and he refused again. By offering the second time, have I burned the Type D compensation for next season?

I think you'll still get it. Although please report back. This is one of those odd glitches I'd love to know the answer to.

Well, the thing is, if I've already burned the compensation, then I have to just spend the rest of the season offering again and again till he maybe signs. No point quitting for nothing. But if the Type D is still in play, then I have the option to choose it.

I’d argue a bunch of real baseball GMs would do the same thing. Statisticians believe that momentum does not exist. Almost all of MLB organizations are run by analytics nowadays.

You're fine.

You're guy still hasn't signed so you'll get the comp pick unless he eventually signs and he won't unless you keep making offers.

"The AI Has been running this franchise since ...."

So I see that the this appears when I click on some teams, but I see the owners have logged on far more recently than that and they are active in chat, etc... is that data just wrong or does it mean that the AI is just setting lineups and pitching ?

My understanding is that means that they checked the box at some point for whatever reason and haven't unchecked it yet

I should know the answer to this one, but if you are planning on promoting at end of year around 30-40 players across various levels, how much cash do you need to have ? Would something like 500k be enough?
