Points still applied to a guy signed?? Topic

What do you do when points are still applied to a guy signed by someone else? Guy is signed but I still have 60 points applied that I can’t get back to use on someone else…

It sounds like a bug. I think I remember someone saying this happens if you assign the points right when the cycle is being processed. Submit a ticket to the devs ASAP.

I have the same right now, but I assigned it with plenty of time before processing

if you have an old version of the recruiting home page up, you can still manipulate the points there. i have only heard of this issue happening with changes right around the say 11:03 time (EST - cycle roll time), or after the fact. you can add and remove points from a player who has been signed by someone else, from the recruiting home page, IF the recruiting home page was up from before the guy signed. is it possible you guys had an old version of the recruiting home page up, and didn't realize the guy signed, when you put the points on? perhaps not and its a new way - or perhaps a cycle ran at a weird time, occasionally that happens as well?

anyway, unless you have an old version of the recruiting home page up, where the player in question is not yet showing up as signed, there is no way i could find for a user to fix this themselves, the slow ticket route is probably the only way. you could perhaps change the points on a different recruit, capture the request in transit, and modify the recruit id to get the change to apply to the old recruit, but you'd have to be moderately technically savvy to manage that. i suspect it would work because the server allows such changes on signed recruits with an old UI up, so there appears to only be client-side checking to prevent AP changes on signed recruits (which is dumb and bad, but a fairly common issue). i seriously doubt it, but if either of you guys cares enough to go down that route, burpsuite is what you want for the proxy intercept, set it up to a second browser (download a second browser if need be - i have mostly used it with firefox, i'd start there). i kinda think you could use postman and that postman is a lot simpler, but i'm not really sure about that, and i would be less able to assist with follow up questions... i used burpsuite to test a bunch of WIS recruiting stuff (to make sure it was safe!) at some point, so i know that all works.

Same here!! I sent a ticket but no response…

it really cripples recruiting when your points are tied up with a player that was signed several cycles ago…

Absolutely the same, every single one of my points are now tied up with this one player thats signed with another team.

I missed the first 36 hours of recruiting due to life, that's not anyone's fault but mine (it happens). But it's crippling when you get this random glitch and I can't move my points to other players.......

I hope it gets solved for you as well

Recruiting for our world ends in one hour so the last couple of days have been easy and difficult. Easy when you can’t do much but very difficult to stomach. I just had to start offering scholarships with no attention points and see what happens…

Interesting, I appreciate all the awesome and detailed information gillispie. I want to look into your method (I'm beginning to learn the tech side of things, but still not deeply technical.)

It’s apparently difficult to sign players without giving them attention points…If only…

Hello Kevin,

This is a bug that happens from time to time and with recruiting now over in the world we cannot free up those points for you to use. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this caused and setback for your roster. Usually if we hear about this issue right away we can step in and free up the points so you hopefully don't miss out on much in terms of recruiting.

Unfortunately, it happened over the weekend and by time they responded, recruiting was over…

It’s a case of too bad, oh well…

Yeah, that's a pretty poor response from WIS. I know they can't fix it with recruiting being over but at least comp your users some credits when your system is buggy and your CS is slow to respond.

Also frustrating it's a bug they know about and apparently have done nothing to fix.

Kev and Derek -- Out of curiosity, were these players that signed on the same cycle that you put your first effort in on them? I'm wondering if it has to do with points not getting registered to the player (since they signed), but also not being return to the teams.
