Another D1 big 6 school without a title has been removed from the winless list. Georgia in Naismith, led by Chapelhillne as a 10 seed, gets their first ring in 3.0. The list has now dwindled to only 6 schools.

Kinda surprised to see that Memphis only has one title in 3.0. Congrats to Brianxavier for the achievement.

I saw Conference USA "had" 4 titles and assumed they were all (or mostly) Memphis. So when updating this list, I started looking for their name, and it wasn't on here.

It is now!

baums has 3 at UAB in CUSA tark, in a span of about a dozen seasons, incredible job he's doing over there

That feels rough that you win an NT and prestige only goes to A rather than A+ --- unless I am misunderstanding something re: UAB?

As soon as I saw that Memphis had none, I looked at the CUSA teams and remembered Baum's success.

Looks like Memphis prestige will also be A after winning NT title. Is this because of baseline prestige is lower than schools like Duke, etc?
6/8/2022 12:33 PM
yeah, mostly baseline prestige. CSU is a middle ground conf - they have C baseline - which is actually a big improvement. the D prestige schools (all the little confs), those can win titles and hit a whopping A-.

except memphis - they are B baseline. i think. but a big part of prestige is also conference prestige - which is just the average prestige of the conference. the BCS schools with B baseline still have an advantage over memphis, prestige wise, because their confs are generally higher prestige (not necessarily, but probably almost always).

D3 Palm Beach Atlantic becomes the 3rd school in HD to reach 30 championships since the release of 3.0. Joining D1 juggernauts UCLA and Illinois after Rupp’s title games.

Surprised PBAU beat out Colorado. Probably has to do with the quality of coaches at those schools.

Has anyone else that’s reading ever won a title with D2 Florida Southern? I find it odd to write them down for their first 3.0 title. Seems to be a competitive school often

I just looked in every world but Smith which I'm about to join, looks like they've won a few titles including 5 in Naismith but nothing for a long time, those titles last came in like Season 88 there.
