Two questions in one…

1) have any of you recruited a Juco that went pro after only one year of playing? I have a player that could turn out to do just that. But I didn’t know if it was uncommon or if it happens regularly and I just haven’t experienced it yet. And

2) i know that we can’t lose any EEs if we have 6 Srs. Well one of my Srs is actually playing in only his 3rd season, as he was an Inel when I recruited him. But he’s listed as a Sr this year. As far as his roster slot, could I lose an EE? Or am I safe?

(had to edit and word that second part a little different)

i am pretty sure but not quite 100%, that a juco 2s senior year would count as normal but that any sort of ineligible's listed senior, when they have a year of eligibility left, doesn't count. i think it basically has to be the last year of eligibility for a scholarship player in at least their 2nd season with you.

I just had a juco leave after one year in Iba. He was at 87 on the big board and got drafted at #50.

1. Not terribly common, but it happens. I’ve had a couple get onto the BB after a season, but none have left (yet).

2. If your guy isn’t graduating, he’s not protecting you from EEs. Think of it this way - you can lose an EE until your team is already losing 6 players to graduation+EE. That’s why walkons don’t help you either.

shoe said the same thing as me for #2, i think, except for senior transfers... which do not count. i am sure he knows that but just clarifying in case someone else reads it. unless this changed in 3.0 and i am the last to know!

agree #1 is uncommon but definitely happens from time to time. the worst case of it never happened to me, where you redshirt the juco and he leaves before even playing a game! i am not sure this can really happen anymore, doesn't the game stop you from redshirting 4-5* players or something? i can't really remember, and i haven't tried. you used to be able to redshirt the #1 recruit but its been pretty many years. anyway perhaps it is possible to redshirt a highly enough rated juco to still have him leave - probably it is - but feels like this would be super rare nowadays?

Good clarification. Those senior transfers don’t help either (I don’t think that was changed).

2. I grasp that in general. Just didn’t know if a 3rd year inel was considered a graduating player by system

thanks

HD loves to keep you on your toes. I originally made this thread in regards to a good Juco I recruited in wooden that climbed the board quickly

woke up this morning to losing #77 in Naismith that was a juco. Errrr. Didn’t see that coming at all
