Get a successful and active mentor.
Great advice. When I originally joined HD, I took over a good team and immediately sunk it into the ground. I thought I knew everything. I was stubborn and stupid. I didn't turn things around until I sought out a mentor. I reached out to the previous coach of the team I was at, and ryguyrb steered me in the right direction. In a short period of time I knew who and who not to recruit, how to scout efficiently, the importance of gameplanning, and creating a beneficial non-conference schedule. Without his guidance I would've never won any championships.

When I recently returned to HD after a long absence, the first thing I did was visit HD Discord and get a new mentor. Don't be afraid to ask for help.
How do I get a mentor? I def need help in my 2nd season. Thanks

Hey Miller,
First thing that jumps out at me looking at your Eau Claire roster is you are playing m2m, but have 3 or 4 players with DEF ratings in the teens, which is really really weak.

Things might be different if you were running a Press, but M2M needs DEF ratings in Division-3 of at least maybe 50 minimum (though to address a specific need, you can maybe dip below that, like your guy with PER at 99).

That's just a quick note... other people here would be great mentors. Good luck.

Understanding ineligibles.

They do not have ratings growth during their ineligible season. They can't be redshirted at all during their career. If they remain in good standing and don't go to the draft early they will come back as a 5th year senior. In D3, if they commit to your team they will report. In D2/D1 they might commit to your team but then choose to go JuCo rather than sitting out the season, although this is fairly rare, it is possible.

(Please correct me or add on if I forgot something, I definitely screwed up on my understanding of ineligibles upon my return to HD a few months ago)

I just clicked on the top 25 D3 team ratings in a world I play in. Their average defense and ath are mid 50s for both categories. Yours are 33 and 36 respectively which is simply to low to succeed so you need to target those categories when evaluating recruiting. Like others have said, I think you should get a mentor that you can bounce specific sitemails off of. Consider messaging someone from this list that says they play D3 (or D2 which is alot more similar than D1).
