I just entered a team named The Final Curtain (of this I'm certain) in MLB 135852.
I am tired of managing teams that mostly win but fall short in the end: 17 years, 786 seasons, 67589 wins (.537), 45 championships.
Great owners such as dougpalm have figured out things about this game that elude me and I find it's harder to win then it once was.
I've been diagnosed as having Parkinson's, but I may yet live to see another Cardinals championship (and maybe even a return to sanity in our political life). I'll be 81 in 6 weeks. I'm a retired newspaper editor and professor, and am writing a family history and editing a friend's book. I'm wonderfully well married, and hoping for as much good time as I can find. I lived through the careers of Musial, Gibson, Pujols, Ozzie and the others, and am still rooting. (I'd love to witness a long career for Jordan Walker, but I sure can't count on that.)
I'd love to reach an owner rating of 100,000 but have been stuck around 97,500 for months, so que sera sera.
It's been fun. Vaya con dios.
