Well, I agonized over this next pick way too much. But I need somebody to cover plate appearances at 2B, 3B and SS. Way too many people behind me can take this guy, so it's now or never. Plus there aren't many Rays players left that I can legally take. I'm 100% certain the other two players I was *strongly* considering here will be taken before my next turn.

1999 Tony Graffanino, Rays B3 $1,088,480

When I came up with this version of the ReDistribution draft, I initially thought that maybe the draft would be somewhat boring, giving no salary cap and no Bonus Round. But, to my surprise, this draft has been just as fun as previous versions. Having realistic rosters to draft from without the crutch of being able to fix a problem in the Bonus Round really makes these last few rounds critical. The average number of innings submitted from each franchise was about 1450. That should be enough innings in a 120M cap league with no DH, but not everybody will get to 1450. Some will end up around 1400 or maybe even fewer. (I'm probably going to be around 1425). And God help you if you "get stuck" and have to take a <$300K player at an important position.

Should be interesting to see how this plays out.
I meant to chime in on this earlier ... I'm looking at 1,438 innings if my math is right. It was looking like 1,370 or so if I'd wound up with Maddux at P1, but once he was taken I was locked in with Feller and his additional 70 innings. Might end up being the difference between fatigue battles and a smooth season.

Interestingly, my total salary is likely to top $135M and I would have to imagine that lands me in the division with the highest four salaries. But I haven't looked at who else still has to take some big salaries on at the end.

My rudimentary projections shows the top five salaries are, you, footballmm11, calhoop, pedrocerrano and vilefileman. It's too close to say which 4 end up in the same division, but there is currently a $2M gap between 5th highest and 6th highest salary.

There's still a wide range possible on the last few bench players and pitchers, so I guess we will see. There won't be much wasted salary on my roster, though. It will be interesting to see how big the range is between top and bottom teams and what difference it makes.
