Thru 5 games, there are still 15 undefeated teams left. I have one. The good news is that I have no more winless teams and only two 1-4 teams.

The Expos teams in the leagues I’m in are 23-7.

Since this is Juice's final tournament, I decided to take a different approach to signing up. Typically in the past, I would sign up for a whole bunch of teams on the first day the tournament was open. Over the years, various people have complained that it's impossible to win in a Juice tournament if you sign up late and/or have late picks in any given round. So, I decided to wait one full week after the tourney was opened before I signed up for any teams.

I "only" ended up with 11 teams, as some leagues filled before I found a team I liked and I couldn't sign up for more than one team in any league. So far, two of my teams are 4-1 and three of my teams are 3-2. On the flip side, I have 3 sad teams. Two of them are 1-4. One of them (1981-94 Cincinnati Reds) is 0-5 and has a staff ERA of 8.66. It looks like it will be long season managing that squad.

In any case, I'm hoping that at least one of my teams can set me on a course that leads to me having a team in the final round.

Fun stat: On my 1963-72 Dodgers team, the RBI leader on the team is Wes Parker with 4. He is currently batting .080 (2 hits in 25 ABs). I challenge anybody to produce a team's RBI leader hitting worse. The team is 4-2 despite scoring the fewest runs in the N.L. (Also allowing the fewest)

8 of my 10 teams are either 4-2 or 3-3 ... and then there's the beauty of the 1916-21 Giants at 0-6. What looked on paper like a great bullpen of Schupp, Toney, and Nehf has allowed 11 runs on 14 hits and 12 walks in 13.2 innings. The "worst" of those guys had a real-life WHIP of 0.87.

1980 Brett is off to a .529/.619/.824 start, so at least that's pretty fun.

After 6 games, It’s a bit early to be hand wringing over underperforming teams. However after game 7….

Spotlight on my 1955-1962 Dodgers.

7 hitters in the starting lineup vs. RHP have a batting average of .167 or less

Picking early guarantees nothing.

My 9 A.L. teams I drafted "later" are a combined 40-23 which equates to an average 162-game pace of 102.9 wins. Two of my three worst teams (2-5 record) are in the N.L. East Division (i.e., a top 4 pick in their respective league). One of my best teams (1922-39 Reds) is 6-1 an was the last team chosen in league 6.

In high cap leagues, most players fall short of the their real-life stats.

But it's very rare for your team's best real-life hitter ('56 Mantle, .353/.464/.705) to be your worst sim hitter (.189/.286/.270).

FWIW
I always say the season doesn't start til you play your own division

Across 3 leagues, my three Pirates teams are 5 - 19. Whoopee!

I have two teams in League 1 - right now, they're a combined 1 - 15.

My lone undefeated team (one of the Expos/Nationals combos) is using trick mirrors. The pitching has been great so far but the offense is definitely nothing to write home about. Once the pitching comes back down to earth, I see a tropical depression heading my way...

After 8 games, in League 4 - 21 of the 24 teams are either at 3-5, 4-4 or 5-3. Parity so far...but way early.

Anybody have any candidates for worst *combined* performance from your two clones? I have an early nomination..

1985-02 Cardinals
'85 Tudor (0.94 whip, .209 oav, 1.93 ERA in real life) --> 9.28 ERA in sim
'90 Tudor (1.03 whip, .225 oav, 2.40 ERA in real life) --> 8.64 ERA in sim
Combined 0-2 with 19 runs in 19 innings, 9.00 ERA

In the 3 games where $18M '56 Mantle got a hit, the 1956-62 Yankees team is 3-0, scoring 26 runs (almost 9 per game). In the other 6 games when '56 Mantle didn't get a hit, we're 1-5, scoring a total of 23 runs (less than 4 per game). He's 0-24 in those games. Going out on a limp predicting that he won't finish the season with a .175 batting average.
