I love the "Guess the Player" game...

Player A: 64 AB, 1 double, 2 homers, 11 runs, 6 RBIs, .188 avg, .297 slug
Player B: 60 AB, 2 doubles, 2 homers, 10 runs, 10 RBIs, .283 avg, .417 slug
Player C: 56 AB, 2 doubles, 2 homers, 15 runs, 7 RBIs, .250 avg, .393 slug

The three players' salaries are $5.5M, $14.1M and $18.1M.

Of course, Player B is '62 Tom Tresh and the other two players are Mickey Mantle's two best seasons ('56 & '57).

It's also fun when your players' sim stats are upside down when compared to real life... Example: 1936-51 Giants

Real Life OPS for starters
1. '36 Ott 1.036
2. '38 Ott 1.024

3. '47 Mize .998
4. '51 Irvin .929
5. '48 Gordon .927
6. '49 Thompson .873
7. '50 Stanky .872
8. '37 Bartell .836 (15 HRs)

Sim Stats
1. '49 Thompson 1.095
2. '48 Gordon .996
3. '47 Mize .850
4. '37 Bartell .837 (leads team in HRs w/4)
5. '50 Stanky .792
6. '38 Ott .766
7. '51 Irvin 740
8. '36 Ott .580

Interleague play starts with the pm2 games today. In theory the NL teams should beat up on the AL. It'll be interesting to see the extent to which that's true.

I’m already getting beaten up by AL teams, so I’d imagine it’s all downhill from here.

League 1 - PM Game of 11/16. Two teams tied at 15 all after 9 innings. The visiting team scores 4 runs in the top of the 10th. The home team comes back with 5 runs in the bottom of the 10th to win the game 20-19. Fans got their money's worth in that one!

Granted, I know these stats may say many things or may not say anything relevant at all. I just thought they were interesting...

I've got 30 teams in this tournament. I did pick the majority of my teams in the first couple of days that the tournament was opened. Therefore, that's why most of my teams (22 out of 30) are on the N.L. side of each league. When it comes to the divisions, my teams are broken down as such:

N.L. East - 10 teams
N.L. Central - 5 teams
N.L. West - 7 teams
A.L. East - 4 teams
A.L. Central - 1 team
A.L. West - 3 teams

The winning percentages of my teams in those divisions are as such:

N.L. East - 51%
N.L. Central - 47%
N.L. West - 54%
A.L. East - 54%
A.L. Central - 55%
A.L. West - 52%

Either I'm better at picking my teams late or when I pick early, I just pick the wrong ones.

Quickly checking to see if I was on the losing end...

Surprisingly, nope.

Divisional Play has really slowed down my hot start. In the first 12 (non-divisional games), my 31 teams averaged a W-L record of 7.25 wins and 4.75 losses (.605 winning%). In the eight divisional games, my 31 teams averaged a W-L record of 4.25 wins and 3.75 losses (.532 winning%).

I was fortunate to be around when the tournament was first posted so I have a disproportionate number of NL East teams. That being said, I actually have a better aggregate winning% with A.L. teams (.589 to .570). Here is the breakdown by division.
.
Division Teams Win%
NLE 18 0.583
NLC 3 0.483
NLW 1 0.600
ALE 4 0.525
ALC 2 0.625
ALW 3 0.650
Overall Total --> 0.576

Here are my top 8 teams and the bottom 8 teams. As you can see, 4 of my top 8 are in the A.L. while 5 of my bottom 8 are in the N.L.

2013-18 Los Angeles Dodgers (Kershaw) 22 3 6-14 0.300
11/16/2022 3:37 PM
In the first game of inter-league play, my 22 NL teams went 14-8. My 9 AL teams went 2-7. (None of my teams played each other).
11/16/2022 7:16 PM
My 10 teams are all AL. Somehow we went 7-3 in the first go-round. Not much of a sample size, though.
