Rolen elected on HOF Ballot Topic

https://youtu.be/z7C5Y4vH6h4 Stop with the Santa Claus BS. We are just passionate fans like the rest of the NFL….and the most despised athlete in Philly is Ben Simmons….

The committee members strongly favor McGriff.

Too bad Lou Whitaker isn't on the ballot. He'd likely be a shoe-in!

The 16-member Hall of Fame Board-appointed electorate charged with the review of the Contemporary Baseball Era player ballot features Hall of Fame members Chipper Jones, Greg Maddux, Jack Morris, Ryne Sandberg, Lee Smith, Frank Thomas and Alan Trammell; major league executives Paul Beeston, Theo Epstein, Arte Moreno, Kim Ng, Dave St. Peter and Ken Williams; and veteran media members/historians Steve Hirdt, LaVelle Neal and Susan Slusser.

Omar was a very good SS, not sure he is Hall worthy though. I wouldn't be upset if he got in.

if Clemens and Bonds can't get in then AROD and Manny should not be in either. Wagner should, Kent, possibly Beltran and Rolen.
EXACTLY my thoughts.

I think Clemens was in already too if he quit after 96, 3 Cy Youngs, an MVP, four ERA titles and the two 20 strikeout games is a pretty strong resume

Dick Allen definitely should be in the HOF, just by his numbers alone. One big fan of his was Goose Gossage, who credits Allen with explaining to him how to effectively pitch inside. He said that Allen was the greatest player he ever saw.

I'd love to see Billy Wagner make it in. He overcame a number of hurdles in his childhood and career. Throwing 100+ with his left arm as a natural righthander has to be extremely rare. He said he can't hold a pencil or correctly use a fork with his left hand. He sure could pitch with it, though.

but see how he's about to cleat sheffield in the face AND turn the double play

well, Omar does deserve extra credit for that!

McGriff is in

While the 59-year-old McGriff received unanimous support from the 16 members of the contemporary baseball era committee — comprised of Hall members, executives and writers — Schilling got seven votes, and Bonds and Clemens each received fewer than four.
