I agree with Doc. Just wondering which park you're using...that could make a huge difference.
As far as fielding ratings go, the letters just give a basic idea of what you're getting. Haven't used those since I first started here and doubt that many do. There can be a big difference in an "A" rating (or any of them). You can search by fielding pct and range, plus search by fld pct" #", which is an "adjusted" pct for different eras. The # can be used for pitching and hitting searches too. Play around with all of the player parameter search tools. I suggest you invest a little time looking through all the tools available, play a few teams, then decide if WIS is for you. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions...many experienced players are always willing to offer advice. I hope you learn to like it and stick around.
Never tried Diamond Mind...looked at it a couple years ago, but just seemed too expensive with individual seasons up to $24.95 each. That's the reason I quit S-O-M years ago. DM may be a great game, but I enjoy having many different teams over different eras. If I enjoyed the game, I'm pretty sure it would wind up setting me back well over $500.
IMO the best bang for the buck is OOTP. $39.99 and you get every season from 1871-2022.
