I think you're going to be a bit short on innings pitched.

This isn't Diamond Mind, so what they do doesn't apply here.

Theme league, progressive league and Champions leagues offer a broader range of available parks. Open league play is considered a beginner league, hence the limited list of parks.

You're either gonna play this with an open mind, or not. Stop judging it before you figure out how it works...

Outfielders here have fielding pct and range ratings, and catchers have caught stealing ratings and passed ball ratings. Dig deeper into the draft center.

League leader stats are in here, perhaps not in the Spring Training mode. You'll need to try an Open League to get a better view of things.
I wouldn't try an open league because of the clones. It's a much bigger problem in basketball, where the open leagues are all owners who have like 2 Stocktons, 2 or 3 LeBrons and even 3 and/or 2 Steph Currys. You get playoff scores in open leagues of like 173-167 because owners stockpile the same great players on most teams. The all star game will have like 5 LeBrons, 4 Stocktons, 3 Currys and 2 Jordans on the two 12 man rosters.

There was a guy in my 10 game season who had two Altulves. It was actually a very stupid move since he can only play 2B and there was no DH. The second Altuve as just a pinch hitter.
Me, who was getting ready to enter a 4 Altuve clone team and planning to play them all out of position, getting called stupid :’^{

Well they seem to give you some money to make waiver moves, so I'll probably drop a mopop guy eventually and pick up another good pitcher.

You get $1.6M, and the WW gets depleted quickly. It repopulates occasionally. It isn't enough to provide a lot of quality innings. You need to draft enough, as you get good at managing you can make do with less. You do get a 10% buffer, but I recommend 1,300 minimum for newbies. Use all 13 pitcher slots, even if a few are mops...

I'm not going with just 12 position players, this isn't 2022 baseball. I'm carrying 14 position players. including one of the greatest pinch hitting seasons ever in 1968 Gates Brown. I only expect to make one waiver move, either trading in a mopup guy for another good reliever, or maybe trading in one of my starters for an upgrade. I'll be fine.

The league is full so we will be starting in a couple of days I imagine. Can one of you guys tell what the playoff format is?

How many teams get in, what's the setup, and everything, Off days, rounds, how many games for each series, etc.?

Okay, I found an explanation of the playoff system. Three division winners and one WC for each league. Same as it was when they first went to 3 divisions in each league with one wild card. One extra game to break a tie for who makes the playoffs. Looks like no off days within each series, so 5 straight games or 7 straight games, which effects pitching rotations.

Okay, looking things over, when I spend my money to pick up a pitcher from the waiver wire I may drop a position player and go to 12 pitchers. Hillis Layne is a backup 3Bman who did not even get into a game in my 10 game season. With Cullenbine eligible to play 3B as well as Schofield who plays 2B, SS, 3B, it might be a better idea to drop Layne and add a pitcher who goes for around 1.75 million or so, which will be what I will have to spend including the 10% fee. For 1.75 million I can get a very good reliever who can throw like 70 innings, or a decent starter who can throw like 100-120 innings.

One problem I see is that you can't list a pitcher to be a pinch hitter. Certain pitchers are good hitters, and some were really used as pinch hitters, especially in the early days of baseball. Guys like Red Ruffing pinch hit a lot. Ruffing had 213 pinch hit at bats in his career.

Okay, we start on Friday. I have a 3 game series at home against a Dodgers team of current day players. Here is who I am facing in the 3 games.
.
G Pitcher/Winning Pitcher Catcher/Losing Pitcher
1 '21 M. Scherzer (R) 0-0, 0.00 ERA
2 '21 C. Kershaw (L) 0-0, 0.00 ERA '22 W. Smith (A/A+/D-)
3 '22 C. Kershaw (L) 0-0, 0.00 ERA

I see you can't see the rosters of the other teams in the league other than the team that you are gonna play next in the Manager section Is there some way to see the other rosters that I haven't found yet?

On Diamond Mine I feel like the clone option is way more realistic. For instance, the second Altuve will always perform half the level of the first. I don't like how clones perform irrespective of each other here. It seems unrealistic.

It's Diamond Mind, and there are no clones there unless you maneuver to intentionally add a second copy of the same player to that player disc. I've done experiments such as giving 2 teams the exact same pitching staff while one team's position players were all big hitters who are really bad fielders, and the other team's position players were all great fielders who were below average hitters. The great fielding team wins easily in a 162 game season head to head.

I've also done things like having two teams exactly the same except for a different player at one position, to settle arguments about which player was better. One was Steve Garvey against Darrell Evans. Evans is much better with advanced metrics, but most people don't buy that he's better than Garvey because of the wide difference in batting average. So I ran a bunch of seasons with the Dodgers team with Garvey vs. the same team with Evans at 1B instead of Garvey. The Evans team was better by an average of 2-3 games per season.

Quality innings are better than quantity of innings. For $1.7m, I can tell you you won’t find a good 100-120ip pitcher. You should look in the 50-70 range at most.
