Didn't somebody else who was recently banned forever used to post about music along with his typical dose of daily idiocy involving commenting on everyone's everything along with his other talk-to-himself thread ? I'd already been hmmm'ing about the timeline timing, and now this music revelation. Sound like someone else we already knew ? Hadn't he been banned on another user id before coming back brand new and trying hard for the longest time denying they were the same person ? Oh, and the lists; my gosh the endless lists. Purely coincidental, I'm sure. So too the I'm-a-newb-but-already-know-best maneuver. Also the hey if you don't like it then don't pay attention to me doing what I want to do. And setting a new to SLB 1st-week record on being blocked. Congrats on that. I'm sure there's at least 1,000,000 people worldwide like all of that.
account was created in 2009, would be a remarkable long con, and I gotta say I don't think dino or guitarguy are smart enough to pull off a con like this.
Ok, fair enough. Despite remarkable coincidences and recent timeline similarities, we'll go with the completely different random weirdo angle, although I'm not sure this one has much of a head on his shoulders either, not only what he puts us thru in sim complaints which we all have and would be good enough if it ended there, but profanity and calling out admin as well. Who wants to bet a team fee this guy isn't around much longer, whether that's his choice or someone else's . . .
I bought a 6 game pack yesterday before I found out that there were no arm ratings for OFers. I will only run one team at a time, so you guys will see me around for at least another year.
Given the decision tree, how do you see OF Arm Ratings impacting the performance of the decision factors? The runner being thrown out or not advancing is a secondary feature on the tree where they could likely add in some similar elements to the C Arm rating and logic around success rate and advance attempt rate, etc... but how do you see that changing what's already accounted for without adding additional noise or factors that could potentially game other elements? To add in correctly, I would think the site would need to undergo the rewrite mentioned multiple times throughout this thread.
Also, as has been mentioned several times, you seem to have a number of gripes about things that have been well fleshed out or that have been established for game related or fairness reasons without taking any time to look at past forum discussions or understand why it may be why it is before complaining about it. I would wager that most of the hostility you see would not be here if you presented yourself with more curiosity and openness rather than with gripes, defiance, and a know-it-all better-than-thou attitude.
Shoot, I've been fairly active here for over 20 years and have tested virtually every facet of SLB and I still have gained new understandings and learned new things over the last year. For as old as it is and for all the improvements we'd all like to see, the sim is still quite remarkable for what it is and does.
What other sims have you tried?
If this is the only one it may seem remarkable because you haven't seen any of the better ones. It's like a guy in 1966 who thought that nothing could ever sound better than his transistor radio. Like a guy who in 1985 was amazed at how great his DOS computer was.
Are there ejections in this sim?
What about plays where a batter singles and drives in a run from 2B, but the runner from first is thrown out at third.
How about a brawl with multiple ejections, does that ever occur?
Are batters rated for SAC bunting and pitchers rated for holding runners on base like in Diamond Mind?
What about steal ratings for runners? I only see a speed rating, which is very different than being able to steal bases at a high success rate.
What is "quite remarkable" to you is subpar to someone who had played many other baseball sims.
And 20 years without an update is remarkable in a negative way.
Yes there are ejections, but they generally are just notational and replace an injury from fatigue.
Runners being thrown out are accounted for in the decision tree, and that occurs, but is also dependent on baserunner aggressiveness settings from the mangers settings.
No, no ratings for SAC or holding runners, those end points are built into outcome elements. WIS is an outcome based sim. Diamond Mind is an input based sim. Very different behavior and goals in their setup.
SB ratings are made up of underlying stats primarily around SB% and SBA/100SBO, speed isn't really part of that equation, though it does factor into being thrown out on the bases. There's more details in the forums around how it comes together.
There've been many updates along the way. The last substantial update though was in 2009.
