The modern game with all the threes has ruined most old timers from being effective in these kind of leagues. Nobody even wants Jerry West, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, etc. The instructions say that old timers get their shooting percentages normalized for the modern game, but I guess that's not true. A player shooting 48% in the early 60s was way above league average, but here he stinks.
I'd like to see leagues here have an option whether or not to even have 3 pointers. Especially the Decade League for the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Would change the whole thinking on many of the players that are coveted if we ran THIS league with no 3 pointers. Nobody would even want some of these players if there were no 3 pointers, and Curry would still be a very good player, but nowhere near what he is with 3 pointers legal. Without 3 pointers Curry would be less valuable than most of the top PGs of the 60s.
The league played for 30 yesrs with no 3 pointers. That should be an option for Private leagues at least.
