This is honestly shameful behavior. It'd be one thing if you were just a player, but you're the commissioner. We can't have an unbiased commissioner make a call here, because there isn't one. You'd think that as commish you'd have a higher standard to uphold to instead of trying to claw value from anywhere you can find it.

I can't speak for other leagues which I wasn't in, but this is beyond the pale. Please reconsider.

Sorry guys, but this is an example of a trade that is not allowed. It is obvious collusion and unacceptable. If you are trading down, you must recoup more overall value later.

As an aside, before I was considered good at this game, under another commissioner in the ODL, I traded 2,3,6,6 for 1,5,6,6 with the trade netting me the 2nd overall pick. No one said boo. Another trade in this league mad by other users before I was commissioner netted the 1st overall pick and was simply 1,4,6,6 for 1,4,6,6. The trade with PBandJ is pretty easily better for him than either of these trades that no one complained about. I now have worse pick equity than almost any user who has had the number one overall pick ever.

Feel free to open up a commentary thread and complain all you want in that thread. From here on out, keep it out of the draft thread.

You have the number 4 overall in the 2nd round too. If you were pretending to be genuine (which you aren’t) you’d have swapped 2nds too. Idk anybody who had the 1st overall pick also have the 4th pick in the 2nd round. Seems to me like you have the best draft capital of anybody with the 1st overall pick. But you know this.

Reviewing it against trades that I and others have allowed through, it's pretty hard to come up with a reason why this trade should be vetoed and no one has really given one. berkelon is the only one to really make a point when he stated that PBandJ should probably have advertised the pick as available and taken the best offer. The rest have just been complaining.

This is so blatantly untrue it's pathetic. You only have to look back a few drafts to realize how wrong you are. At one point I believe a user had the first two picks in the draft. Plenty of users have had multiple top ten picks.

This is basically what we have now. I’ll write it officially into the rules.

Understand the debate over draft picks, I've been away from the ODL too long to have a strong opinion on the trades. But I do have an opinion on the draft schedule and the clock. It's definitely not ideal if we spend the weekend debating the validity of the trades and then those at the end of the 1st round get put on a 30 minute clock in the first round and have to react very quickly to those that took hours and days to make their picks. That requires a lot of extra prep and proxies and that is not equitable. So lets avoid that please.

3:40 today will mark 24 hours. At that point, if ncih is still mia, jackedjamie can pick. Everyone who picked closer to one will slide up a spot and ncih will be placed 17th. If he still hasn’t responded by the time the 16th pick has been made he will be replaced.
