Round Two - League 10 - COMPLETED! Topic

Things to remember:

Team Building: The combinations are listed with the better team named first, followed by the weaker team second. Your roster can have no more than TEN players from the better franchise and the rest must come from the weaker franchise. For example, if you chose the “1903-1904: Philadelphia Athletics – Chicago White Sox” in League Two, you can only have ten players from the Athletics and the other fifteen players must come from the White Sox.

Clones! You're allowed ONE per team. It can be either a pitcher or a position player – and it must come from one of your two years and one of your two franchises. In other words, if you have the 1919-1920 Brooklyn Robins/Boston Red Sox, you can use the 1919 version of Babe Ruth but you can’t use the 1920 version since that player is from the Yankees. Also, I'm not sure if this will even come up but - if, for example, the 1919-1920 New York Yankees/Boston Red Sox was a choice, you COULD use both versions of Ruth (as your clone of course) since he was on both of your listed franchises.

NO CAP – Build the best roster you can from your combo.

Clones: Just one per team as mentioned above.

Designated Hitter: Yes
Waiver Wire: No
Injuries – Turned On
Trades: No
A.A.A.: No

You may use either partial or full season stats of any player who had a split season - as long as the stats indicate it was for your franchise.

Stadium – You must use a stadium that existed during the time-frame of your combo AND was the home ballpark for one of your two franchises. If that ballpark isn’t in the database, you must use WhatIfSports Park.

Every pick can and must include their division choice with their team selection.

Kept going back and forth between two choices before settling on:
1991-1992: Cincinnati Reds – Chicago Cubs
NL West

I'll go 1985-1986: St. Louis Cardinals – San Francisco Giants
NL EAST

1985-1986: New York Mets – Pittsburgh Pirates

Well, I had my mind on another team but I'm going with my heart (I know, bad choice). Not going to pass on the double Ryan Express.

1989-90 Rangers - Dodgers
N.L. Central

1985 - 1986 Montreal Expos/San Diego Padres (NL Central)

Really difficult decision among mediocre choices. At last with this team, I have Ivan Rodiguez A+++ arm when I face the few base-stealing teams in this half of the league.

1991-1992: Texas Rangers - Baltimore Orioles
NL West
1/12/2023 11:44 PM
NLE 1987-1988: Boston Red Sox – Kansas City Royals

1991-1992: Milwaukee Brewers – Philadelphia Phillies (A.L. West)

I was really, really close to taking this team. I'm not good at quantifying the effect of stolen bases; usually they're overrated, but those two Tim Raines are going to absolutely wreak havoc.

There have been very few picks in which the choice (or even two choices) seems clear. I was looking at 4 teams and choose this because of the speed/SB wildcard. We'll see.

Am up next and am looking ... I now look at which segment of years has the least Teams already taken --- in this case 1989-1990 has only one taken ... Not sure if this logical but seems like a good place to start ... Always look at Pitchers first listed in this case 1989-1990 with Order By: Team and Then By: Stat Criteria 6 #ERC (0-2.75) ... Suffice it to say I was not pleasantly surprised but choose

1989-1990: Oakland Athletics – Atlanta Braves in the A.L.Central
