I think Snafu's bad recruiting luck is compounded and frustrating because HD has given him insane amounts of bad luck in tons of deep NT runs.

Like, just one of his many Final Four runs should have resulted in a ring at some point. In HD as in many sports, it's a game of inches. And it seems that randomly those close battles always work *against* him, unlike random sh-t luck *favoring* his opponents.

Now HD is just royally hosing him in recruiting.

The advice of "be patient, eventially things will even out in recruiting"... or, "be patient, you'll get that elusive ring some day..." , while well-meaning, has got to be annoying... unless you've been screwed as much as he has, it's easy to say be patient.
True. Better advice might be "don't drive a car, don't even go out of the house" since the entire world seems to be against you.
Hey shoe you can just post this on your actual ID and don't need to hide behind your spud account.
i would have thought 5 years would take the edge off your biterness / resentment. no? perhaps not time to come back yet?

fairly decent thread turned to garbage with this alt nonsense.

A huge portion of the userbase quit and it's totally normal to lose 17+ rolls in a row but it's not the games fault it's all snafu's fault for being bad and unlucky

genius
Oh I get it now, your life just wasn’t complete was it? You really missed this. Don’t worry, I won’t tell them. You can relive 2016 all you want, just like the Bernie Bros.
Did Bernie win anything? Because I sure as **** won a lot in 2016. Definitely find reliving that
All I remember is you losing your ****. D3 titles in evacuated worlds don’t mean much if you’re not having any fun, and buddy I don’t remember you having any fun at all - unless, of course, *this* was your fun. Then hey, carry on.

Empty d3 titles? Hmm can you remind me the first person to win a title from a D baseline in the ****** D1 update oh yea. Me. Beat your stupid update with ease. could give two ***** about titles you won playing against 5 other people.

You couldn't win titles before the update or after the update. Took an exodus for you to be thought of as anything more than a mediocre coach with a big mouth at least I can backup **** talking you and your update.

Ive gifted more titles to random players by quitting and leaving teams than you've probably even won still, lol I could quit for another 3-4 years and I'd come back still with more titles, Yet you act like the letters next to your forum posts spell out billyg or chapel at least those guys are good at the game no matter what you do to the game

You were a crybaby with no skill until you got handed some participation trophies hiding behind some alt IDs

I figured we needed to completely derail one thread before I stopped wasting my time talking to shoe and his alt on these forums

What's to talk about snafu's a good coach with 19 rolls lost while leading most. Whatever nonsense shoe spouts is as useful as my posts towards him as advice

On the plus side I signed a guy that was cut by an A+ DIII school so I’ve got that going for me.

The advice to plan accordingly and lower target expectations is fine, but sometimes that isn't enough. With the increase in coaches playing D1, I'm having all-in battles at A prestige schools for 1 and 2 star guys just as much as I am 5 star guys. Hell, I took a D2 player the other day. Bad luck happens in both scenarios and I'm still stuck with a bunch of walk-ons. So I sympathize with those who are in a rut. Having to recruit a D2 player at Michigan St. is objectively not fun.

I know how statistics work, and I know that it will eventually even out, but the difference between losing a string of games in Apex Legends or COD lasts a few hours. Having 2 or 3 seasons of bad rolls lasts 6 months in this game. That's why people lose it and quit and I totally understand.

Would love to see RS2 actually mean something and have specific recruits for that period.
I don’t know, I think it’s *kind of* fun to have D2 pool players on my A+ teams (I don’t currently, but I have in the past, including Michigan St., lol). But yeah, there is a balance here, and they’re not getting it exactly right yet. Like I said, we should be able to keep the competition for the elite recruits - which we absolutely need - but lose the absurd and unrealistic high stakes for losing out on those battles due to bad luck stretches.
Your D2 player was probably better than mine lol.

That's all I ask really. There has to be competition, absolutely. Not everyone can have teams stacked full of 5 stars. But a little bit more options in that middle range of developmental players, and maybe some recruits that only show up in rs2, and then there might be some proactive options for teams to climb out of that bad luck rut instead of just waiting for odds to level out.

Just imagine if all 324 D-1 teams were filled. Then it would really become dice roll dynasty.

It would be nice if the recruit population adjusted to the human coach population, especially since they are encouraging for more users to get to D-1.

So to start this recruiting season the trend continues! I just lost my primary target 57/43. I was on the recruit with 80 AP a cycle and “staked my claim” as others suggested by going all in early. 6 cycles in an A+ school came in and started pouring resources too. I had a preference advantage and 400 AP lead so I kept my foot on the gas hoping to fend them off, but their 1/3 letter grade on me let them jump right up into contention and of course, I lost despite almost the 20% advantage.

i know a lot of folks made a lot of comments, but FWIW, this is kinda the opposite of anything i was suggesting. staking your claim isn't really going to keep folks off your primary target, that's just not how recruiting works anymore. its too competitive for top tier players, sometimes there are guys here and there who go without battles, but that seems fairly random. staking a claim on the guys you aren't thrilled to have at the start of recruiting, but wish you had at the end of recruiting... that sometimes works. it used to work somewhat reliably, even in 3.0 before the jobs change - but now its too competitive even for that. still, there's a chance!

i kinda also have not found much luck with putting so many eggs in one basket. i would try casting a wider net and seeing what you come up with. back when i was at uconn and you were at... nova? i tended to have battles for all the players i wanted the most. pre-jobs change this is. but i had pretty good luck with the second tier of players, less folks were willing to fight me for those, the region as a whole didn't feel overly saturated. i'm sure its more competitive up in the northeast than when i was there, owing to the jobs change mostly, but still.

The issue with D1 HD right now is the competition for those second-level players is just... appalling. No reason to grab that 3 star who needs starts/minutes to be coddled and slowly develop to 100 ath 80 reb 95 de 80 sb 80 LP as a SR when it is just as hard to land him as the 100-100-100-100-100 60 WE guy next door!

With 6 open schollies I had some backups, but once again my A+ prestige school will be fielding a team of second rate players. It was more me bemoaning that fact that yet again, as a favorite, I lost. Keeping the streak alive!
