Yes. They work mostly the same in man and zone. They give you a chance to somewhat suppress the scoring opportunities of an opposing scorer, and can decrease their effectiveness - results will vary, based on the quality of your defenders (you can't predict who you will have on the double, you only select the target), the quality of the target, and random dumb luck. You are also at risk of every else seeing slightly increased effectiveness. But again, results vary. It's a bit of a wildcard. Best used when you are confident you know where your opponents effective scoring is going to come from.
