did you forget 20 thomcat?
I’m waiting for him to submit his team into the league before doing the evaluation.
ah thanks for the clarification.

17)copernicus: Overall it looks like about 110 - 115 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 57%, OReb roughly 39%, DReb roughly 100%, Ast roughly 77%, 70 weighted avg team defense, and To’s and Fouls are just below average. My only concern is the possession battle with TO’s and fouls potentially coming back to hurt you. Overall nice draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 71.5.

Dennis Rodman

17

Love the Rebounding from the SF position with Rodman and taken exactly where recent ADP puts him. Well on your way to a top Rebounding team.

John Stockton

32

Stockton is the best ast% boost in the game. He just also hurts To's but the overall A/T ratio is worth it. Stockton also provides great Def, elite EFG, and doesn't hurt you with fouls.

Shawn Kemp

65

Speaking of hurting you with fouls and TO's is Mr. Shawn Kemp. admittedly my favorite player as a teenager, but his stats come at such a cost. Otherwise I like his EFG, Rebounding, and great Defense.

Zach Lavine

80

Zach Lavine fills the much needed Usage when you start with Rodman and Stockton. He is very clean and efficient with his scoring too. Has enough position versatility to kind of hide defensively.

Khris Middleton

113

A great clone of Lavine so this fits nicely but the defense is poor. 4 position flexibility can hide well except I don't see a good defensive SF to come down to defend SG. So Middleton and Lavine really only swap with Stockton defensively.

Kevin Love

135

Another poor Defender but hides better given the SF-C flexibility and other good defenders can guard SF and PF. Love also provides good EFG with some 3PM, and is very clean in TO's and Fouls.

Alonzo Mourning

136

Alonzo is an elite defender, with good EFG and usage, but like Kemp fouls more than I like, and is not the cleanest with TO's. His rebounding is not great for a PF/C but ok when you have Rodman.

19)Bablamzee: Overall it looks like just under 100 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 55%, OReb roughly 38%, DReb roughly 101%, Ast roughly 70%, 70 weighted avg team defense, and To’s and Fouls are above average. My only concern is the usage. I see no one able to back up Olajuwon with any usage. Those 8 minutes per game are going to hurt. Perhaps you could find some higher usage seasons from some of your players? . Overall decent draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 65.

Hakeem Olajuwon

19

Olajuwon feels more like a 23-26 pick value. But he provides a ton of quality minutes with decent EFG, not great. He provides elite defense, good Rebounding, and chips on with some assists. However, the To's and fouls are not the cleanest. I see a good defensive pairing with Capela based on the matchups.

Clint Capela

30

I like the Capela pick. He dropped based on recent ADP so this was good value. His defense is ok but provides a huge boost on both the OReb (16.3) and DReb (32.1) categories, as well as elite EFG. TO's are extremely clean and fouls are clean for a big man.

Steve Nash

67

Good value based on recent ADP, provides elite assists and EFG with tier 3 usage (23%). However, the TO's and defense are terrible and just not part of my personal team building philosophies. But I hope it works for you.

Gerald Wallace

78

This pick leaves me scratching my head because it was way too early based on recent ADP. There were other guys like Montrezl Harrell, Bobby Jones, and Andre Kirilenko on the board at the time. However, Wallace does provide a ton of quality minutes with elite defense, good rebounding, below avg EFG,but pretty clean TO's and fouls. I would try and play him at SG.

Andre Iguodala

115

I would have liked either Wallace or Iguodala, not both. Iguodala provides good defense, ok EFG but great DReb and Ast for a SG. Also super clean with TO's and fouls.

Rajon Rondo

131

Rondo is basically a Nash backup, but seeing other PG's go undrafted leaves me wondering if you could have filled another need like usage instead. Rondo could have been gotten in the reserve pool. But he fits the Nash backup role very well. Awful TO's.

Ed Davis

132

I do like Ed Davis especially when certain SimBasketball legends give him random shout outs and just mentioning him moves his draft value up. Ed Davis provides elite EFG but only from a 12.7 usage, with super elite rebounding. Defense is not existent but the rebounding is where his value comes from.

I am still trying to learn, so this helps a lot. Thank you!
3/15/2023 3:41 PM

sorry for going out of order but Thomcat’s team wasn’t in the league when I got to that stage of the evals.
20)thomcat: Overall it looks like about 110 - 120 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 56%, OReb roughly 44%, DReb roughly 98%, Ast roughly 58%, 65 weighted avg team defense, and To’s and Fouls are just average. My concerns are the TO’s from Malone and Simmons and if the overall Defense is good enough to stop teams. Overall pretty good draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 65.5.

Player

Moses Malone

20

Moses was taken a little early for my liking but provides Good EFG, Elite OReb (18.2) and great DReb (26.1) with great Def (80) with low fouls. However, the To's are a little high.

Karl-Anthony Towns

29

KAT has now been taken exactly 29th in the last 4 drafts. He cannot be drafted anywhere else. There may be a different season I prefer but KAT provides great EFG efficiently, and good Rebounding. Fouls are pretty good for a big man but that defense is his only weakness.

Ben Simmons

68

Be Simmons does not fit my typical philosophy so I apologize in advance. He provides great rebounding, defense, and nice assists from the PG position. To's are way too high for my liking. But I may have been too harsh on this player. I kind of like his stats now.

Michael Porter

77

Michael Porter gives you nice 3Pt shooting with super elite EFG from a 21.7 usage rate. Very clean with TO's and Fouls. Defense and Ast% are the biggest weaknesses but the 4 position flexibility allows better defenders to rotate with.

Pascal Siakam

116

I like Pascal Siakam here at SF. Shoots great EFG with nice 20.8 Usage and good defender. TO's and fouls won't kill you. Rebounding is just ok.

Donovan Mitchell

129

Mitchell has not been drafted in the last 5 seasons. Probably because of poor defense, and not great EFG to redeem himself. The usage is there if you really need it, but I am wondering if you could have drafted someone else to fill a need and taken Mitchell in the reserve pool.

Chris Andersen

130

I wanted Chris Andersen in the 6th and you took him before it got to me. The birdman gives you elite defense at 3 positions, nice EFG and pretty good rebounding. Rebounding is more valuable if he plays SF.

3/15/2023 3:42 PM

16)24kpyrite: Overall it looks like about 105 - 115 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 56%, OReb roughly 36%, DReb roughly 95%, Ast roughly 81%, 72 weighted avg team defense, and To’s and Fouls are great. The only concern is the drop in Ast% when Chris Paul sits but this is barely a concern given you’re still well above any penalty with the great assisting bigs. Overall excellent draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 74.

Chris Paul

16

I love Chris Paul, could have taken him at 13 but wanted to try something different. CP provides such a big advantage at the PG position providing stellar Def, good rebounding, and amazing A/T ratios with clean fouls. THe only thing that could be better is the EFG.

Bam Adebayo

33

I also love Bam Adebayo and you were able to draft him right about where recent ADP says he should go. Bam provides great EFG (57.1) with good tier 3 usage (23.7), great Def (80), and Fouls are a little cleaner than his TO's. The rebounding is just ok, but the assists for a PF/C are awesome.

Nikola Vucevic

64

Really good pick here providing good DRebounding with good EFG and nice assists from the PF/C position. The poor Def can hide behind Bam, and Vucevic is extremely clean with TO's and Fouls.

Larry Nance

81

You picked my favorite season. Larry Nance is a nice fit. He provides elite Def (100) with good EFG, ultra clean TO's decent fouls. Rebounding is ok for a SFbut the 3 position flexibility is nice. Perhaps consider allowing Vucevic to guard the SF.

Brent Barry

112

Barry is a nice fit with this team. Provides nice EFG, DReb and Ast% from a SG. Def is just ok but the 3PM is the only player to give you much.

Enes Kanter

137

Kanter is a nice backup to Vucevic who gives you much needed ORebounding but zero defense.

Gary Payton II

138

Gary Payton II is ok, but I don't see the need that he fills. I would have maybe considered a better Assisting PG backup.

3/15/2023 6:32 PM
I went ahead and added everyone’s chewy score to there teams on page 1. I don’t know what they mean but I like them and figure it will make it easier to compare.
3/15/2023 9:15 PM

15)berkelon: Overall it looks like about 110 - 115 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 55%, OReb roughly 39%, DReb roughly 103%, Ast roughly 59%, 75 weighted avg team defense, To’s are elite, and Fouls are ok. The only concern is maybe assists are a little low and fouls are a little high. Overall excellent draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 73.5.

DeAndre Jordan

15

You drafted DeAndre Jordan exactly where ADP says he should go. He provides great Def (90), Amazing Rebounding (15.4/30.8), clean TO's and somewhat clean Fouls for a big man. Oh and the EFG is super elite from only a 13.6 usage.

Dwyane Wade

34

D Wade provides elite Def (100), high usage, with good Reb and Ast for a PG. The EFG is a little low for such a high usage rate (36.4), but the Defense makes it worth it.

Joel Embiid

63

Joel Embiid provides good EFG from a high 35.3 usage rate, along with great DReb and even decent ast% from a big man. However, the TO's are not great but the fouls are clean for a big man. 80 Def is really good.

Pau Gasol

82

This Pau has 71 Def which is better than I thought, he also provides steady quality contributions across the board.

Robert Covington

111

Here is where you get some needed 3's. Good Def and position flexibility are nice fits.

JaMychal Green

139

I do like JaMychal Green. Great Rebounding from backup SF and good EFG. The fouls are a little higher than you might like.

Ryan Anderson

140

Also gives you some 3's. Poor Def can be hidden and is clean while shooting a good EFG.

3/15/2023 9:15 PM
14)rjk2781: Overall it looks like about 100 - 110 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 59%, OReb roughly 31%, DReb roughly 87%, Ast roughly 61%, 59 weighted avg team defense, To’s are best in the league, and Fouls are ok. The only concerns are the Defense, and Rebounding. Those are two big categories. The EFG and TO efficiency will have to outweigh the negatives. Overall pretty good draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 67.

Karl Malone

14

Nice Pick! I like what the Mailman brings with that nice EFG and usage with 90 Defense. Rebounds can't be ignored after this.

Andre Drummond

35

Nice to see you get an elite rebounder but I have to question the season selection.

John Collins

62

I really like John Collins and the quality of the 20 minutes per game you will get. 63% EFG from 22.7 usage.

Bobby Portis

83

Really ncie Rebounding from the SF position but the defense is below average. But great EFG.

Mikal Bridges

110

I like this player but again could you have chosen a better season?

Mark Price

141

You did gerry a favor. JK. Price gives you good assists and pretty clean but where's the defense or rebounds?

Domantas Sabonis

142

Oh, here are the rebounds. But still where is the defense? Excellent EFG (59.6) from 23.5 usage but the TO's and fouls are a little high and again the defense is poor.

13)chewy3344: Overall it looks like about 105 - 110 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 58%, OReb roughly 38%, DReb roughly 96%, Ast roughly 58%, 70 weighted avg team defense, To’s are pretty good, and Fouls are ok, not great.. The concerns are defense being able to hide certain poor defenders, too many TO’s and not enough minutes from the 1st round pick. Overall good draft. I am giving it a chewy score of 71.5.

Kevin Durant

13

Clean, Great Def, with Great EFG and Good DReb and Ast%

Artis Gilmore

36

Great EFG, TO's and fouls are not good.

Bob McAdoo

61

Good EFG, DReb, semi clean TO and Fouls. Doesn't wow me.

Jarred Vanderbilt

93

Rebounding from a SF.

Thaddeus Young

100

Rebounding from a PG.

Mike Conley

143

3PM, Good A/T ratio, not much else.

C.J. McCollum

144

Super clean and efficient shooting good EFG (55.4) with a 27.1 usage rate. Poor Def

3/16/2023 8:47 AM
I had to reenter my team last night when I identified a player that had already been drafted playing a 4 MPG role on my squad. Just a heads up to let everyone know.
3/16/2023 8:52 AM

12)Midge: Overall it looks like about 100 - 105 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 56.5%, OReb roughly 37%, DReb roughly 92%, Ast roughly 72%, 80 weighted avg team defense, To’s are just average, and Fouls are not great. The only concern is maybe the usage is a little low and TO’s and fouls are a little high. Overall good draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 72.

Rudy Gobert

12

You took Gobert precisely where I think he should go. This guy is a monster. He provides off the charts EFG (66.9) from 17.8 usage, while giving you elite Def (100) and Rebounding all over the place(12.6 / 28.2). TO's don't hurt you, Fouls are good for a big man, and even the assists are a decent contribution for a big man. Excellent Player!

Bill Walton

37

Reigning Champ Bill Walton was taken a little early but you basically have locked down the Def and Boards with these first two picks. Walton provides ok EFG on 20.8 usage, while giving you 93 Def, Great Rebounding (9.4 / 31.5), while not fouling much. That season gives you the most minutes and cleanest TO's so good choice!

Klay Thompson

60

Now you need some usage, and 3's. Klay fits the bill. 57% EFG from a 26.3 usage rate that is clean and efficient. Also good Def and Low fouls. But, poor rebounding and assists. Hey, every player can't be perfect.

Richaun Holmes

85

I cannot spell this person's name right ever. I use the simdevil method and spell it out Rich-A-U-N. Drafted almost perfectly according to recent ADP, Holmes provides elite EFG on 17.5 usage and great rebounding from SF. Nice 4 position flexibility but the fouls are his weakness.

Oscar Robertson

108

Should he be drafted? Where? When? Last season went undrafted, 3 seasons ago gets picked 17th overall. Hmm. All I know is he gives you a ton of minutes shooting a good, not great EFG (54.3) on 23.6 usage with good rebounding and ok assists from a PG. The defense is great, but the TO's are the concern.

Jameer Nelson

145

So Oscar isn't playing PG? I'm not sure I like the pick as much anymore. Maybe Nelson is just playing limited minutes but then why use a 6th rd pick on him? He basically matches Oscar's Usage, Ast%, with slightly better EFG and worse DReb.

Alvin Robertson

146

So does this mean Alvin or Klay is playing SF? The last 3 picks caused a breakup in the loving relationship I was starting to form for this team. Alvin has too many TO's and fouls but does give you great Defense.

3/16/2023 9:16 AM

11)steelers821: Overall it looks like about 105 - 115 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 56%, OReb roughly 38%, DReb roughly 94%, Ast roughly 67%, 77 weighted avg team defense, To’s are great, and Fouls are just average. The only concern is maybe the fouls are a little high but there are no glaring weaknesses. Overall great draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 73.

Anthony Davis

11

Maybe a couple picks too early. But a great start to this draft. Good EFG (55.2) from an ultra efficient 30 usage rate and clean Fouls especially from a big man. Elite 100 Def and 3 position defensive flexibility are awesome. Rebounding is pretty good but could be better.

Jrue Holiday

38

Another slight reach, but I give you credit for identifying and getting your players. Holiday gives you great Def (90), great EFG (57) from tier 3 usage (22.2) while not hurting you in TO's or fouls. Ast% is just ok for a PG.

Chris Boucher

59

Again, a little sooner than recent ADP. You pay for the quality, not the quantity of minutes. But those minutes are super efficient and clean giving you an elite EFG (59.5) from a 20.5 usage rate. DReb is really good from a SF.

Gary Payton

86

TO break the reaching trend, you draft Payton who was severely falling so you get good value here. But don't you already have a PG? Payton doesn't shoot well enough to be worth this pick because it's from 26.8 usage. Yes the Defense is awesome, Ast% is good and does not commit many Fouls. But he's going to take too many shots away from Davis and Holiday.

Mitchell Robinson

107

Great OReb, below avg DReb, but the super elite EFG from only 11.4 usage is nice. Good Defense.

Brandon Ingram

147

Can defend 3 or maybe 4 positions to hide that awful Defense but does provide some decent EFG from 28 usage.

Clifford Ray

148

TO's, fouls. Need I say more? Does provide Elite Rebounding when on the floor.

Thanks Chewy! Awesome evals. I really tried to focus on defense and turnovers this season. That is my explanation for the Payton pick. He’s got a 27.2 ast% compared to a 10.8 tov%. Sure his efg is low but that’s a really impressive tov rate for a high usage in pg.

since I mostly focused on tov% over rebounding I kind of panicked in the 6th and that’s my reasoning for ray. 13oreb 32dreb and 15ast the fouls and tovs suck but man are those some good numbers.

my efg and assist% are almost the exact same as my previous two teams where I had a top 5 offense.
3/16/2023 9:53 AM
Chewy you seem to place a certain value on fouls - what metric are you using when you consider them is it a per or just the counting stat or something cool and arcane like %s

also you nicked Zo for his TOs but he is a 13% for the season I am using - are you considering TOV or do you feel 13% is particularly high?

10)HDS1: Overall it looks like about 110 - 115 Usage% on the floor most of the time, Weighted EFG of about 55%, OReb roughly 34%, DReb roughly 88%, Ast roughly 72%, 83 weighted avg team defense, To’s are ok, and Fouls are ok. The concern is perhaps the pursuit of defense caused too many sacrifices in Rebounding. Overall good draft. I am giving you a chewy score of 70.5.

David Robinson

10

I like the Admiral, 100 Defense, good in every other category but not elite in anything else. I thought he had fewer TO's but still pretty good.

Shawn Marion

39

This guy's position eligibility between seasons is so weird. The season you chose gives you some defensive flexibility, good EFG from 22.3 usage. Good DReb if playing SF. The biggest value is his super clean TO's.

Elton Brand

58

Elton Brand playing SF gives you pretty good Rebounding and a nice defensive flexibility. You have a great defensive "Matrix" of options between Robinson, Marion, and Brand.

Terry Porter

87

Terry Porter may have been a reach. He is a vanilla player providing great EFG from 19.6 usage and doesn't hurt you too much but the Rebounding is not good.

Victor Oladipo

106

That one season sticks out. Great Defense, pretty good EFG, good DReb and Assists.

Charlie Ward

149

Good Defense, but the TO's are a little too high for me. But the EFG is good and assists are in line with Porter.

Kyle O'Quinn

150

I do like Kyle O'Quinn. Fills the backup PF/C role by providing elite EFG from 17 usage, and really good DReb and some nice assists from the big man. Just the TO's are a tad high and the FP48 are over 6.
