Beernoser, I've been trying for some time now to find the best team to leave you struggling with. It's a bit unnerving knowing that I'm going to get stuck with one of the squads I don't give you, but I can't worry about that yet. Let's recap where we stand with your team:
The 35 Giants have a few solid pitchers and some nice outfielders and a couple solid infielders. Some of those bats are a tad expensive, but they might be manageable if all the pieces fit.
The 65 Senators have only one useful pitcher and not much cheap help anywhere. You're gonna have to start a few of their hitters. Also, neither of these teams has more than one 3B or SS, so backups are an issue there.
So I'm trying to give you a team that doesn't help your pitching out, keeps you constrained at 3B/SS, is low on cheapies, and offers strength where you already have it.
There's a reason why no one talks about the glory days of the Kansas City A's, you know. It's because they didn't have any. They never even finished .500.
So the 1955 KC A's are not a great ballclub to say the least. The pitching is ... well, let's just say it's not good. They do have a couple decent hitters, but they're all OF and 1B again and all the OF need to platoon with someone. You're really going to find yourself boxed in trying to roster any of those Giants OF when you need to use those spots on Senators and A's and only get 5 total. Plus, these guys only have one sub-$1M bat for you and ... well, of course, no backup 3B or SS. You've got a couple places to get creative, but you still have to survive daggers in addition to finding yourself a 4th team that can fill all the remaining holes.
We wish you luck, but not too much!
