The first 3 numbers drawn from your time slot is your score. The lowest score gets #1 and so on. Ties will be broken by whoever has the lower 4th number drawn.

I’ve got 9:28 available, looking for something in the 8:12-8:36 range

7 straight rounds without a 24 hour rule when multiple people with planned vacations said they would make accommodations?

As one of the people on vacation next week the last thing I want to do is keep checking the site over and over again to see if a pick was made so I can make my pick. That is no fun. How exactly is that supposed to help my vacation time?

As far as I can tell we are negatively modifying the rules of the draft to accommodate a single user to the detriment of everyone else despite a lengthy waitlist. That doesn’t seem fair to everyone else.

I would have at least settled for some middle ground of “no skips as long as you sent a reasonable proxy” or something like that as a one time thing. But this is just needless accommodation.

I am going to opt out of this season. You all enjoy. As far as I can tell, I think I can opt out of two seasons and almost still stay on top of the all time standings. The good news is that it gets tarheel back in.

Is the concern the lack of a 24 hour rule? I missed that. I would suggest only round 1 has 24 hour rule.

Dh’s SM indicated no 24 hour rule for 7 rounds, which is specific enough to indicate there’s a request behind it and it isn’t particularly difficult to sort the logic out. And an ask for 7 rounds with no 24 hour rule implies and intent to use so that’s a hard pass for me.

got it. possibly dh is trying to be considerate of those on vacation, not sure - he can weigh in.

Yeah, I can understand wanting to have a 24 hour rule, maybe that comes into effect at the end of the weekend or something like that. Hopefully it's a moot point and no one comes close to taking that long. It makes sense for owners who will be away to prep some sort of cheat sheet, or just deal with whatever sort of access they have - or just pass on the season.

Either way, I'm in - I need a distraction from my horrible ODL team and the CAP league is taking forever to fill.

For those of you on vacation, here's an idea: Enjoy your vacation. Don't feel obligated to spam f5 to see if you can pick. If you're that worried about holding someone up - or being held up - take a vacation from Savage. I took two Savages off, and it was good for me. Sounds like Rob is taking that vacation. Good for him.

so have we we ever had anyone actually get skipped with the 24 hour rule?

my thought was that its almost unnecessary so why not just do away with it for the first half of the draft since a lot of people are on vacation anyway

im not trying to have people drop over it...we will just go back to normal 24hr skip for rounds 2-6 and 12hr skip for rounds 7-12

As long as we aren’t compromising the league for the majority to satisfy the demands of a single user or two then I’m good. At whatever point we have to start loosening the integrity of league standards to curry favor with one user or another though, I’m happy to bow out with no ill will. Like I said, it looks like I can stand to miss a couple of seasons without falling off the top so it’s not a big deal.

I hate waiting in these draft leagues. Last year if I remember the 24hour rule was basically unnecessary. Honestly the difference between waiting 24 hours and a day and half doesn’t change much we’ll all be ****** either way. I’d imagine anyone who signed up has the best intentions to pick as quick as they can even if it’s slower than some(me included) would like.

Wherever you set the line is where the worst offenders will extend it. I track the pick times in every draft league and the max times are always right up against it.

If we’re doing 2 relegations, I vote 1 for worst record and 1 for slowest draft time. Or maybe do the 1-and-1 only if someone’s average draft time is >12 hours, and if not then relegate the 2 worst records.
I won’t name names, but al-bi damned if I’m going to pick within an hour every time and then wait around 20 hours for someone else every single time.

lol

tbf, even though I was super opposed to changing the rules for this draft lest the worst of us take advantage, last Savage was the fastest of all time but quite a margin.

In my fantasy leagues, whenever we've had very slow drafters (often times the folks in europe, frankly), we've always put them at the late turn (#24 in a league like this) and it's always helped dramatically. The worst place for the slowest drafter to be is dead center in the middle. You need them to be in a spot where they can always make two picks when they pick. Basically solves the problem. It's a bit artificial, but we decided that we couldn't bear it anymore, so we made an executive decision and it saved us all a ton of headache. We'll never go back. In my draft leagues, If you have an established track record of being slow as hell with your picks (no judgment - we're all friends), you're picking at the turn, end of discussion. Obviously, that's with a more dynamic pool of players, since it's yearly fantasy and therefore the talent is always changing, which makes it less predictable from year to year for them to always pick last, but that's what we do.
