Not to mention that's in 14 season, and he obviously won the Rookie of the Year that first season too. I wonder if he was on the Cy ballot as well.

That guy was pick 12 in the draft? What do the other 11 look like?!?

I would guess that they're not as good as him. There are still a lot of people that either don't know or they're too stubborn to change, but maxing out scouting budgets is a HUGE part of the game. My guess is that many people didn't see the guy or didn't have him as highly rated due to non-maxed scouting budgets.

I have played this game with owners that consistently have a high draft pick and consistently draft midling players because their scouting is likely somewhere in the $10-$16 million instead of $20 million.

I guess, on one hand, I get it. I have recently picked up the gridiron game and it seems that everyone runs relatively the same startegy -- make sure that every season you red shirt a QB so that every season your 5th year QB is so good that he throws no interceptions all season. I'm trying to prove that you can win without that formula, but I'm having a very difficult time. So, I get the stubborn part.

Ross was a product of the "training bug." He was 28 when the world started and was good but we were all new and not sure what to expect. The owner had extra budget and threw it in training and medical and the ratings for Ross continued to grow until he was in his mid-30's. He had a hard drop though once the training bug was fixed.

Ross was traded for this guy and two other guys who never made the majors.

Ross was my guy, so thanks for repping gccoach! I don't check the forums too often these days.

I traded for him in my very first season playing this game, so I had no idea whether he would re-sign (he was in the last year of his contract) and still didn't fully understand prospect ratings, etc., and certainly didn't know about the training bug -- at least not at first. I wish he'd been younger when the world was generated, but then I probably would never have gotten him in a trade. I miss that dude!
