On to round two.

I know people like to sometimes give an explanation of their pick.

Please don't say stuff that looks like you're telling the next screw guy what he should do. That's no fun.

Assuming everyone can see this, my Round 2 pick is the 1976 Montreal Expos.

Would it be okay to say to my screw guy his mother looks like Babe Ruth?

Which is a lot like telling Lincoln to enjoy the play.

The screw and dagger assignments are now posted.

When you want to take a break from your research take a look and make sure I don't have duplicate assignments. Mistakes are more than possible.

with a torn rotator cuff and no natural ability i think i could pitch for the 1936 Phillies. jeffc2873 can enjoy them.

Well, midknight, I had plenty of good options here at this critical juncture of the draft. Your '26 Cardinals have 6 potential starting hitters and a handful of useful pitchers, so you'll have a solid foundation regardless. My goal here is to keep from adding to that and make it a challenge to find 6 guys you use from this team.

I can't really hurt your offensive choices, but the team I'm giving you brings nothing with the bat. Also, aside from one (maybe?) tolerable pitcher, no one you'd really want to throw either.

Meet the 1976 Milwaukee Brewers.

Their best hitters are a 1B and 3B, each at least 100 OPS points worse than the Cardinals you have. And be careful when you check which hitters you can actually use. Despite the fact that the Draft Center will pull up 20 players here, you actually have just 12 based on our league rules. On the plus side, there's a fairly punchless final-season Henry Aaron if you want to get nostalgic. Also a very young Robin Yount, before he could hit or field.

You could try to use 50 innings from Danny Frisella in your pen, as he's the best pitcher they bring. Of course he does have a 6.27 BB/9, so that should be entertaining. Everyone else has an ERC# of 3.51 or higher. Not a horrible pitching staff, just no one you'd ever choose voluntarily.

No doubt you can find 6 guys harmless enough to roster, but you'll lose a lot of flexibility everywhere when you do.

For calhoop, your '36 Pirates are well balanced with primary strength at 1B, SS and OF on offense plus four capable starting pitchers. The biggest weakness as I see it is your bullpen so I didn't want to help you out there. I had a few options which included giving you a second Dirty Burgh team but they weren't quite bad enough, and I considered giving you a very good team that mirrored the Pirates and would have jammed you up with dollars. But at the end of the day bad is bad and I gift you the 1956 Kansas City Athletics. If you find a keeper from this team's pitching staff the only word that comes to my mind is mop-up. Hector Lopez may end up starting for you at 3B but he's nothing special.

Good luck and have fun!

You failed to mention the Brewers include two HOFers in Hank Aaron and Robin Yount! I am...thrilled?
