My only wish would that the bludgeoning stop. We may never convince each other of changing our views but 10-15 years ago, people could talk politics and still get along well even when they vehemently disagreed politically. Today there is no tolerance for any other point of view than one's own and the other political spectrum is viewed as the enemy rather than an opposing point of view. .That level of militancy won't get us anywhere.
