I read MisterBBQ's question as being for the 1904 non-twisted players...

I'm talking about filling my roster with my 1904 squad.

So as to not tip my hand at who I might be considering, let's say it's the 1990 season. I have the Oakland A's. Do I have to use Willie McGee's partial season made up only of his games with the A's (123 PA, .274 Ave)? Or can I use the combined season that includes both his numbers with the A's & the Cardinals (665 PA, 324 Ave)? I'm assuming we're only able to use the partial season. But if we can use the combined season, that would impact which team I may select.

Had another question - can the twisted players be those who were on the 1904 roster but did not achieve WIS season status (due to not enough IPs or PAs)?

That's a good question. The player should be on the team you picked, even if it's a partial season. The only players that could potentially be from another team would be the ones you are actually twisting

You know what? Since it's season 1 and we are working out the grey areas of the rules, I'll say yes. As long as the player is on the roster according to baseball-reference.Com, then I will allow the twist.

Unless I missed it , MisterBBQ’s question was can he use McGee’s entire season or just the portion where he played for the A’s. I would say the entire season could be used.

On second thought - it might be better to use only the portion of the season that he played for your team. Otherwise you could have two teams with the same player, each using the entire season. Should have thought this through a bit better.

Would like this one answered. Are we using the WIS database or the Baseball Reference database as our base roster? If we use the BR database we will have more players to twist but we cannot use some of them in 1904.

Exactly. I'm not trying to be difficult. There were quite a few really good players who switched teams mid-1904. Knowing if I can use their entire season or am limited to the partial season (which means I might have a very unbalanced platoon at a key position) drastically impacts which team I may select.

I think Winterhawk's follow up comment is right though. We run the risk of having the same player on two teams. I see the case for both ideas, so if it doesn't work out this season, I'll make the change in 1905. So for now I think we keep it where we the partial season in these instances.

Thanks,
I missed the reference to Baseball Reference.

Stuck between two teams, I’ll have my pick up a little after the Napoli match.

Okay. Sitemail the next two in the draft order when you're done. Thanks!!
