Unlocking recruiting actions Topic

I'm in Iba and currently in the second recruiting phase. There's a recruit who I have been at 97% unlocked for promise start and promise minutes since the 5 a.m. cycle ran this morning. I put 15 attention points on him at 11 a.m. and 14 at 5 p.m., yet those two actions have remained at 97%. Is this because of the money another human coach is sinking into that recruit? Or is there some sort of bug happening here?

Hmm...that seems odd. I'd probably send a ticket.

Done. Thanks.

For anyone interested, I was told that the percentage I saw on the recruit page was not the actual percentage that I had unlocked. Pretty disheartening to find out considering success in HD is significantly tied to the ability to recruit good players. This is the first time I've seen this, so hopefully it's a random rare occurrence.

I think something must have gotten lost in translation here - that doesnt make any sense. I use those percentages to figure out the exact number of APs to use to unlock scholarships or promised minutes every recruiting session and it always works to a T.

Same, that's why this situation jumped out at me like a big red flag. I was throwing more attention points at the player than I needed to unlock the scholarship because I was trying to also unlock promise start and promise minutes before he'd be able to sign with the other human coach. I would've been able to offer a start and 20 minutes, whereas I knew the other human coach wouldn't be making promises and might even be redshirting this guy. Yet I didn't even get the scholarship unlocked despite having good to very good preference matches.

Just so I understand, the Unlock Scholarship was frozen at 97%, and the other recruiting actions didn't unlock?

Was the browser page left open throughout those cycles, or did you close/reopen it each time? I know leaving the browser page open can sometimes cause weird stuff to happen.

Scholarship was frozen at 97%. Nothing else unlocked, but I didn't notice if those percentages changed. Maybe I should pay closer attention, but I don't even look at the other actions until the scholarship is unlocked.

I was on different computers (home vs. work), so it definitely was not the same browser page left open. The response I got to the ticket claimed that the scholarship unlocked at 11 p.m. yesterday, but I have no verification of that because the player was signed on that cycle. All I know for sure is that the scholarship percentage was at 97% and stayed there through two cycles (11 a.m. and 5 p.m.) - one with 15 AP, the other with 14, and then I kept the 14 for the 11 p.m. cycle, but that player signed.

In reality, I was probably going to be the underdog in the fight even if the scholarship had unlocked, but at least I would've had a chance with the roll of the dice. Assuming the scholarship should've unlocked at 11 a.m., if I had also been able to unlock promises at 5 p.m., I think I would've been pretty close to even with the other user by the time the 11 p.m. cycle happened.

just an outside shot, but i wonder if something weird happened with info being cached on your browser. i know that sometimes when i refresh a page on my browser in HD, even the homepage, it doesn't always update any information. any chance you kept this recruit profile page open and just were reloading rather than clicking back into it from the recruiting page?

the different computers makes the caching scenario unlikely. still, this sort of issue coming up now, after so many thousands of recruits, is very strange, its not impossible but generally user error or confusion is going to be significantly more likely.

do you still have the recruiting history page? can you grab the info from there and paste it here? anything strange stand out to you from that page?

is recruiting still going on? looking at the all contacted tab might be a good idea, is there any chance there are two recruits with the same last name on that list, where you could possibly have accidentally put stuff on the wrong guy? or have seen the 97% on a different guy?

how'd you put the AP on the guy, from the recruiting tab of the recruit, or from the recruiting home page?

It wasn't the same browser, or even the same computer.

Recruiting is over and the recruit signed with a different team, so the recruiting history is lost unfortunately. Definitely not two recruits with the same last name and definitely didn't see 97% on a different player, as this player was the only one I had AP on that I hadn't unlocked a scholarship offer on.

I first put AP on the player from his page at the end of the first recruiting period, then adjusted it from the recruiting home page once or twice during the second period.

I recognize that there's a chance I'm misremembering, but I think that chance is minimal. When I checked after the 5 a.m. cycle that day, I don't remember with total certainty that the percentage was 97, but I was confident that one more cycle with 15 AP would unlock the scholarship. When it didn't unlock at 11 a.m., I was a little puzzled, but I kept the 15 AP so that I'd unlock the scholarship (which I am certain was at 97% then) and move closer to unlocking promises. When it still said 97% at 5 p.m., I dropped the AP to 14 only because I needed to take a few AP from 4-5 recruits to try to unlock some fallback options. Tech support claimed I unlocked the scholarship at 11 p.m., but since the player signed on that cycle, I couldn't actually see that was the case.

I wish I had also been paying close attention to what percentage the promises were at, but I tend to completely ignore the percentage on all other recruiting actions until the scholarship is unlocked since it's impossible to unlock anything else before the scholarship. So I have no idea if the percentages were going up on other recruiting actions but not on the scholarship.

are you sure you were still giving the 14 AP?

for example, did some other player sign and reduce your available AP - perhaps moving this guy to zero AP?
