For those of you who spent the bulk of the 2223 draft whining and complaining how unfair the pick distribution was, here are the pick slots of the current 10 best records in the league (ties broken by point differential):
1. 16th
2. 4th
3. 8th
4. 18th
5. 2nd
6. 7th
7. 13th
8. 17th
9. 19th
10. 24th

6/10 picked in the back half of the draft.

I mostly complained about my lack of prep, but I did suggest there was an advantage at the top. I think you're mostly correct, but would add that there are examples of an advantage where some owners who are not doing as well overall in WIS are doing very well in the 23 draft league . PBandJ is ranked 21 overall, 13th in the 23 draft league moving up 8 spots picking 1st. Pex is ranked 13th overall, 2nd place in the 23 draft moving up 11 spots picking 4th. But benjoker is 19th overall, 1st in the 23 draft moving up 18 spots picking 16th. And some owners do well no matter where they pick.

Plus and minus "diffs" look pretty evenly distributed.

Finally I'm an outlier in the positive direction

Three other teams stood out to me as better fits with the Jazz but I only had about 5 minutes to decide and went with best available.

As soon as I got the Clippers, the Raptors were the hopeful choice in the second round. I think I have a pretty good build. We will see.

Gotta say building a team around Curry, Dwight, Durant was fun. I wanted to put Shaq on the team as well but it just didn’t work out. Might try again if the league doesn’t fill today.

I'm going to complain so if you don't want to hear it just stop reading here. I like the concept of drafting two franchises and building your team from what you picked, but having a $50 million salary cap is sucking all the fun out of it for me. I don't see the fun if you can't use half of the players you want to use and you can't use the best seasons of the players you do use. I'm probably in the minority here, but I would rather have no cap at all, pick the 12 guys you want, and then have fun deciding who gets to play. You can boo me now.

No cap would be fun, but having done a fair amount of prep - having no cap would be a serious disadvantage to several franchises and people in some cases would feel they didn't have an equitable shot at winning or competing based on their draft position. $50M with the snake repick should technically give everyone a shot.

I mean you always want no cap or a higher cap, so no big surprise.

But this is BOWIS, it is supposed to be hard. We already had the 55. 50 is already a massive cap as is. It would be stupid to have another essentially uncapped league on top of the other one we already did.

I think we have the next BOWIS coming soon, the dreaded autodraft. Ben - can you post some rules here to confirm? I've never done one. Just looked at the old original post and it just says "computer" takes the best available of your 168 players. I assume someone did the math there's no chance you can't fill 6 players? And the rest of the 6 players are UFA for you to fill the roster. Anything else?

It’s essentially the same as the ODL or 52, but instead of selecting your players you submit a list and the script selects the highest remaining player on your list when your pick is up. You fill out the rest of your team with your remaining cap.

I think only doing 7 rounds of auto draft was important or it wouldve been entirely luck. Still it will be fun to see how this all goes. I have a plan (or focus) that I think will work but who knows my plans usually don’t.
