Rd 6 - League 1 Draft - COMPLETED Topic

I've got to admit he had a pretty nice swing for a future President.

The rum wasn't the problem, it was the dead chickens.

Yes, Pedro's homer was one of the most dramatic, amazing moments in "baseball" history. Jobu worked his magic to make Yankee pitcher "Jackson" ask for a new sign after getting Pedro to swing and miss at 11 straight curveballs (He was even smirking during the last at bat). However, the Yankees should have played under protest, as the Indians got away with some lineup trickery in the 9th inning walk-off.

Fully expect to regret this pick by Game 2, but...

Eddie Mathews

I'm surprised he made it this far. He was atop my list for next round.

I almost took him multiple times. Considered taking Mathews when I took Rosen. But his profile just doesn't mesh with the pitching in this league. Not saying Rosen will be much better, but if I have to play a power hitter, at least give him a decently high batting average. At least Eddie is a lefty and he should walk a lot.

Agreed and that's why I've passed on him as well. At this point, I likely have two hitter picks and I need a 2B, 3B, and DH. So I either need to double up on someone who can play both 2B and 3B, or I have to find an infielder who can DH. And preferably a lefty given I have Foxx and Mays, so I ended up on Mathews.

I will reference this post in a month when my Mathews clones are slashing .100/.174/.213 collectively, haha

I knew you would take Bubbles here. I wanted Hargrave but I also wanted Carl Mays. I knew you needed more pitching, but so did I and I figured I'd rather lose Hargrave than risk losing Mays. (Not sure if you would've taken him or not).

Also, I wanted 4 seasons of Mays.

I wasn't looking at Mays - but I wanted Wally Schang to fall
