Welcome to the 1905 season!!

In a very exciting inaugural season, the 1904 Champion was the Pittsburgh Pirates (vilefileman) defeating the Boston Americans (06gsp) 4 games to 2

If you are on here I assume you know the rules by now! However, I did revise the chart below for the new Twist Bracket. I thought we got really close to a perfect parody and I wanted to tighten it up just little bit more. Obviously, the intention is to make every team, regardless of the owner draft order, a viable contender. If you are new to the league and have questions, this is the place to ask! I did post a rule clarification that was discussed quite a bit during the inaugural season. I believe it is on page 2 of this forum.

.775 - .700 – twist 1 player
.699 - .625 – twist 2 players
.624 - .550 – twist 3 players
.549 - .500 – twist 4 players
.499 - .450 – twist 5 players
.449 - .400 – twist 6 players
.399 - .350 – twist 7 players
.349 - .300 - twist 8 Players
>.300 - Unlimited Player Twists (new for 1905 season)

Current Team Owner List is below - After I randomize the draft order, your place in that order will be posted next to your name.

Since the decision of selecting a team will undoubtedly require some research for just about everyone, once the person in front of you has selected, try to make your selection with-in 24 hours at the most. I know all of you won't need that much time, but we also are all busy people so I want to be fair. AND, once you select, if you can help out by site mailing the next person (or 2) and let them know they are on deck!

First topic of discussion: coltjj will unfortunately not be returning for the 1905 season, and since he was one of the two winners of the most winning percentage points gained over the actual 1904 team record, should we vacate that award or give it to the next highest winning percentage gain?

Either way is fine. I'd say re-award it though.

I will return for the 1895 season. I say re-award the extra twist.

What salary cap are we going with for 1905?

It's still going to be 115M. It is unlikely that anyone would ever touch that. We did some test runs with the greatest Yankee teams and still didn't come close.

I think that I am going to award the extra twist for the AL Winning Percentage total to the next available owner. That would be DarthDurron with the St. Louis Browns with a +104.

I see a couple of teams I don't want but most look pretty viable

The last place teams (Nationals and Superbas) look like a real challenge to pull together and mostly because of the pitching. Those may come down to aggressive managerial style. That was the main reason my Superbas team did as well as it did.
