Question, to make sure I understand the rules:

Say you use Randy Johnson as the clone (as a Yankee and a Mariner) in the bottom left box. Do you then have to use the Yankees in all the left vertical columns and the Mariners in all the bottom horizontal columns for subsequent picks?

Yes, whichever franchise you choose in that column or row carries through for the whole column/row.

So your grid could be something like:

. . . . . . . . .Yankees . . . . .Reds . . . . . 200 Wins
Pirates
Cardinals
Mariners

And then for the lower left, you'd draft two versions of Johnson, one from each team, then one teammate from either of those seasons. Of course, if you wanted to use Johnson as your 200 Wins guy with Mariners, he could go there, too. And you'd pick another player for the lower left.

With such a great group of owners (well, the usual bunch I’m used to losing to, anyways) I’m in.

Yeah, if I'd known this many great owners would join I would have made sure I built a team I really liked first. I think I'm going to take a second stab at it from scratch and see which one I like better.

Ok. I’ll try. I’ve got 12-15 hours to spare to try and make a functioning team. To be clear, if i choose 200 wins for last column everyone has to have 200 wins. Correct?

I also have a question about the third column. Does the teammate of the player chosen also need to meet the avg/wins/HR/WAR requirement?

Let’s answer both together:

In this example, the three chosen players would each need 200 wins. Their teammates can be anyone who has a WIS season from that same team. So it could be your backup catcher who is teammates with your chosen player.

One more question. Can one of my teammates be a third clone assuming he fits into another category?

No, only the 6 players cloned once each.

Next question. Hopefully last, but tough build and find different scenarios. I now have a scenario where two of my boxes in column two end up with two different players on the clone but they share a common year and were actually teammates! I can explain in sitemail if that’s easier to give exact examples. When I go to choose teammates, I need one for each guy. Can there therefore be a scenario where you have four guys from the same team.

Yes, and this actually was the case for me at one point during my own build.

I suppose technically you could even wind up with 5 players from that one team, if your 25th player also came from there. (Heck, a whole column could be guys who were teammates, so really it's possible to get 7 from one team.)

Not fun.

In fact, it’s pure torture. I’ve screamed out loud in frustration a few times.

One of the most difficult builds I’ve ever encountered.

But…if you like puzzles or challenges or just masochism, this is the league for you.

Or, if you are happy with simply completing rosters that have 25 players and you don’t care the shortstop only has 487 plate appearances and D/D- fielding and your bullpen gives up more homers than my mom pitching at Coors, than this is the league for you.

But seriously, you have to consider joining… after all, misery loves company.
