I don't think you can do that mid-draft as far as cumulative salary goes (for determining draft order), but you can simply use the partial version when you submit your team.

Correct. From the rules:

" If you choose a the combined (higher salaried) version of a player during the draft, you can switch to the partial (lower salaried) version when you submit your roster. However, you cannot switch from lower salary to higher version. (The opposite would be true if the partial season is more expensive than the full season - it's rare but it's possible). "
