Another very interesting round in the books. After Rd 1 saw us draft several contemporary players, Rd 2 sent us back to some of the earliest days of baseball. There were opportunities for owners to draft very expensive, all-time seasons (Hugh Duffy 1894, Arky Vaughan 1935), but people went with more fiscally conservative versions. Although we did see another $12M pitcher come off the board in Dolf Luque 1923.

Round THREE starts now with the 1968 Atlanta Braves. dvorr80 is up.

There were a lot of ways to go here but ultimately went with the best value on innings which at $100m cap is key.

Should be another interesting round.

I hope Jtpsops didn't check out after he made his pick.

A solution is to give us times slots, and if someone doesn't pick in an hour (or some time deemed reasonable), generate a new random team for the next owner up and move the chain from there. The person who delayed still picks from the team the were given, but loses the opportunity to use strategy. Helps the draft move along.

Draft pace has been okay so far. We have managed about one round per day, which puts us on an okay pace.

If things slow down a lot we can talk about modifications. But I think we should be okay as long as people make sure to make valid picks. We’re Jtpsops picked quickly, so that wasnt the problem.

Also, and will ask this again, PLEASE SITEMAIL ME YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS.

Sitemail by itself is not a reliable way to reach people. If I had an email for Jtpsops, then I could reach out to him directly, but he wasnt among the owners who provided one.

I can’t insist on this, but I promise I will not spam you. Email is really for situations like this one.

If Jtpsops does not repick or respond to sitemail by around 2PM, I will assign him Rico Carty, 1970 Atlanta Braves as the closest replacement for 1959 Hank Aaron.

After that the draft will continue.

Sorry guys. Completely blanked on that rule. Picking momentarily.
