I just noticed we are using Central time. I can't recall a draft ever not on Eastern before, and I'm so used to subtracting 3 hours I wouldn't have even thought twice about it. I'm not alone in assuming this, either.

I'm pretty sure the last couple BNL drafts were Central. I'm happy to list using Eastern after r1 if people want.

You're probably right and I just didn't remember it. I default to Eastern automatically when I see times. I'm sure others do too. But as long as everyone realizes it, no problem.

I'm going to pause r1 with the intent to re-start by 10am tomorrow. If the new time does not work, consider taking up jpeterso's offer to exercise your proxies (I would too but I am in this division).

Please reach out ASAP if you are BeAllEndAll. If you have already picked and BeAll is outside of your division, please reach out if willing to proxy. The 2nd round needs the 1st round complete, and if we have to sub in, it will be easier to find a replacement if they are still getting a team closer to their draft position.

I plan to pick in my time slot tomorrow morning. I just wanted clarification on how "Utility" players (aka DH) will be used this season.

Last season, the rules stated:

Exception: Players with UTIL/DH as their primary designation will be treated "as if" they had OF as their primary designation. They can be played as OF for roster and daily purposes. If such a player qualifies in WIS for another position, they will count as OF for roster purposes but may start at other qualifying positions as well.

I bumped last years draft where this ammended rule appeared. I cannot find this language in this year's rules entry.

Please clarify when you can.

Yes, UTIL counts as OF for draft.

Planning to restart in 3 hours regardless, but if we don't hear from BeAll or get a proxy volunteer, it could delay r2.

Draft has re-started; calhoop is up.

I am willing to draft for BeAll, handing it back off as soon as BeAll returns or we find someone to take over. I am willing to pay for that entry in AL West as well, if necessary. That should keep the draft on track.

If anyone else who is outside the AL West volunteers to do it instead of me, I will defer.

Perhaps there is a better solution - message me asap if you have one. I hope to make a final announcement later today so we can start r2 tomorrow.
