Lots of moving parts on this team, more so than any previously. Catcher, first and second base will be platoons/tandems. Went cheap at catcher with part timers Fisk and Price. Murphy platoons with McCovey at first and Dale can also catch. Couldn't resist his 21 homers in 450 ab. Second will be a platoon with McAuliffe and Strain/Madlock.
Awesome outfield with Rice, Lynn and Matthews. This is the core of the team. They combined for 105 homers and Lynn is an elite defender. Burleson and Evans are solid on left side of infield.
Daggering my planned ace in Denny Mclain hurt. In hindsight I probably should have offered the Giants for my second dagger but was afraid to lose my best reliever in Minton. Instead I lost innings eater Phil Niekro. Lolich becomes the ace with Eck close behind. Wilson and Solomon slot in third and fourth. Rainey and Curtis spot start/long relief. Burgmeier, McLaughlin, Minton set up a part time closer McMahon.
Candlestick, my only pitchers park was daggered so we will play in Tiger Stadium. Hopefully my staff can keep it in the park as my offense hits it out. Over 200 real life homers, we'll see how it plays out.
