scattergories, which is addictively fun, is down to one open spot
chewy has an interesting league theme that is more than half full
Thanks, but I don't want crazy gimmicks like scattergories. I'm also tired of the same old 15-20 players who dominate almost every league here. I'd love to start a progressive league that runs from 1952 all the way through, but of course they only offer 24 team leagues here, so that's not possible. In 1952 the NBA had 10 teams, and they went down to 9 at one point, so they would have to offer an 8 team league for this to be possible.
They could have 2 divisions with 4 teams each. You play the 3 teams in your division 14 times each (42) and the 4 teams in the other division 10 times each (40) to have an 82 game schedule. Then the 2 division winners and the next 2 best records make the playoffs. Or it could be the top 2 teams in each division get in and then the division winners play the second place team from the opposite division in the first round. Starting in the1968-69 season when the NBA went to 14 teams this league could go to 12 teams. I think they probable should have a full new draft then rather than bring in 4 expansion teams all at once, but the league could decide on that.
The 12 team leagues would play the 3 teams in their own division 14 times each (42) and the other 8 teams 5 times each (40) for 82 games. They could use a playoff format like the current MLB format. Three division winners and 3 wild cards, and the top 2 division winners get a bye in the first round.
But none of these ideas are possible as long as all we have are phucking 24 team leagues.
