Well, I would hope that people would *know* when they have the first pick in a round and not get skipped.
I've learned over many years of running drafts... if you don't set a timeline, some people just don't care to pick in a timely matter.
At the current pace, it may take 6 weeks to complete this draft.
I hear you, and I will get to your position in far less than 6 weeks. But although I've been refreshing a lot this evening, the first several picks were in before I knew the draft had started or fully understood the drafting model. This was due to a two day drive.
My hope is that people will start using proxies when they are soon up if they have time conflicts. I think draft slots sometimes lead people to stop refreshing until their time is approaching.
