Status Quo or have things changed? Topic

Since the ownership change, has there been anything changed or tweaked (or discussed) for HD?
I was excited to see the change at the top, but hesitant to jump back in. Any info would be appreciated.

I haven't noticed anything yet. I am very optimistic, but at the same time, it's going to take them a long time just to go through the code and figure out everything about it before they can assess what changes to make first.

They were doing bi-weekly updates. I'm not sure if that's still going on. They do give updates on the discord, relatively infrequently but even relatively infrequently is more than we've ever gotten. I think, at some point, they really only need to update us on "we're trying to update the whole code" so many times before it's just redundant and frustrating to send out lol.

It seems promising still. Excited imo.

Hey!

Like some of the other people said updates will take time. We are still doing a few things with the SportsHub cutover too which needs to happen first. We are doing bi-weekly updates, last week was missed but Bob was pretty busy.

I am not going to promise anything obviously but we do have some exciting things that we hopefully get started on soon. Hopefully some updates to current stuff and rebuilding of stuff too.

It won’t happen overnight but hopefully soon you will start to see some site wide changes as well as changes to HD and other games.

Given this is essentially a small business venture now from what I understand, I think we can all be optimistic there will positive changes. There are also several products besides HD that all need attention.

I’m curious, how many people are a part of the new WIS company?

Thanks @jjones42 for keeping us updated. Nice to see actual staff responses.

Currently, we have 6 people working in some capacity. And somehow ended up with 2 Jordan's and 2 Chris'. We're getting creative to thread the needle between maintaining the site and improving the site.

Jordan J is our full time developer. We also have 3 developers working in part time/consulting roles. Ccobb, the full time developer for WIS when it was with SportsHub, is working with us. We also have 2 additional devs working on UI and infrastructure.

Jordan H made the transition from SportsHub so we've had continuity with customer support and responding to tickets. He has the most thankless job and he's a rockstar.

After today's auth system change, we're completely untethered from SportsHub. We anticipated that would take roughly 3 months and that turned out to be pretty accurate.

We're really excited about where things are headed.

While the progress might feel slow, breaking off from SportsHub is no small task. So Kudos to the team.

As to changes, @p6453 we are starting to see changes with the GUI and some QoL stuff like actual emails from the system. Maybe one of the biggest changes, we are actually getting responses from the team about plans, etc.

In time, it feels like we'll see improvement.

I know this isn't the biggest update but hopefully a big QOL update. On mobile the menu in HD was not able to be closed. Now you will see an X button to close the menu like you should! It might take a few hours to show up for everyone because of cache, etc.

Like Stormfury said above things will take time, but hopefully we can get some small updates mixed in with bigger ones.
