*Note on salaries for manually drafted AAA players: I have "around" listed in the description in the league rules because WIS only allows me to put "average" in their settings when setting up the theme lague for the players who can be manually drafted to AAA rosters and does not have a max salary that can be entered for that. So the players allowed to be drafted manually to the AAA roster are whoever WIS determines to be "average" instead of an actual salary for them, and you could run into a batter who is under the "around" $2.75mill I have listed in the league description for the max salary range for manually drafted AAA players who ends up not being able to get drafted to your AAA roster because they're not one of the players WIS lists as "average".
I know this sounds nonsensical, and I personally disagree with it because we don't have a way to know exactly foe sure what "average" players will be available to draft manually to the AAA roster beforehand until actually literally manually drafting AAA players for the league. I've asked WIS support about it in the past and was given the approximate salary ranges for the manually drafted AAA players, but they're not 100% accurate to determine what is availble for "average" players.
I hope this makes sense. Apologies for any confusion and inconvenience this causes anyone. Again, I disagree with it myself but don't know any way around it because I can only put "average" in the settings, and if I try to manually replace a player who who fits within the salary range given, it will not let me do it unless they are considered "average" by WIS, even if their salary falls within the estimated salary range for AAA players who can be manually drafted.
Here’s a quirk I encountered. When putting together my Tampa Bay Rays team, I assumed I would be able to draft Randy Arozarena’s rookie season (2020) for a AAA slot. (Salary is $1.98 Million.) Oddly, he didn’t appear in the list of potential draftees, even though there were several other players available with higher salaries. So I adjusted my original plans and drafted him on my major league roster. Do you think this problem had anything to do with 2020 being a short season because of Covid?
I wouldn't think so as I'd assume there are other players from 2020 that are available to be drafted manually to AAA rosters, and the 2020 players should've had their stats and salaries adjusted accrodingly for the 2020 season, but I honestly don't know for sure.
It may have to do with this same issue of who WIS has listed as "average" and doesn't have him as average. I can try to submit a WIS Support ticket to see if they can replace and add him for you, but I don't think they'll be able to based on what I've run into in the past where they say the player isn't showing as an "average" player available to put on an AAA roster per league settings. I truly don't understand this and disagree with it and think it should go by salary range instead of who is considered "average", but that is the only way to set it up in the settings currently.
I'm sorry this is occurring where it seems like a player should be available to draft manually to the AAA roster and isn't and could cause issues with changes needing to be made to who is drafted to the MLB roster because of it and not being able to prepare for it ahead of time. I had a couple players who I was planning to draft to my AAA roster and thought would be available to (AJ Pierzinski was 1 on the Giants team as I wanted a left-hitting catcher to platoon against righties, and there were a couple on the Reds team I can't remember).
All I can possibly suggest is to just not completely rely on the AAA roster when drafting and instead use them more for fatigue management to supplement the MLB roster instead of completely replacing someone on the MLB roster for the whole season, but I know this is difficult to do.
