Here is what happened. If I am not being accurate then prove me wrong.
Kimmel was doing his monologue. Talking about the Kirk thing. He did not - did not talk about the murder at all. He did not mock it or Kirk. What he spoke about was his claim that MAGA does not want anybody to know the the murderer is one of them.
Thats all. That was it. He was fired for pushing back on the Trump MAGA claims that the so called left is responsible.
So he was fired for talking about MAGA and saying the opposite of the wild remarks of Trump and other MAGA people.
His ridiculous firing is a very serious symptom of the breaking down of democracy and reasonable commentary on network television. Now networks are fearful of repercussions from stopping mergers to loss of license over anything that Trump does not like.
Some people see what is happening but others refuse to see it and now it is happening all over the place. Cancel culture way way beyond what that used to mean. Blackmail of universities and corporations and threats of jail and deportation everywhere.
We have a dumb and a stupid and a weak and hijacked country. It keeps getting worse.
And a chaotic country.
Since I posted the above it has been disclosed that ABC executives did not think there was anything wrong with what Kimmel said. They really were afraid that they would lose their license.
This is terrifying.
It started with the ABC 16 million dollar settlement and then a big law firm and then Universities and then some companies and now networks.
It is not just democracy getting stamped into the ground. We are losing the American culture.
A few things that I can see happening soon : weeding out democrats from the military whetever they can and as many as they can and that includes enlisted persons.
Small police forces and then larger forces doing the same especially with new hires. MAGA police forces.
And the judges are getting confirmed that are like Eileen Cannon and worse.
If one of the liberal Supreme Court Justices gets replaced with someone like Alito or Thomas game really over. That would be 5 and then Roberts and Barrett would be irrelevant.
The country is turning into a police state and a single party country.
It is obvious that things will be done to deprive a fair outcome in 26. The gerrymandering is happening now.
Military and police will be used to intimidate certain voters. And laws ending mail in ballots and creating onerous requirements will get passed.
It is happening every day.
This is real. Not a movie or a tv show.
And the Republican congress is right on board as is the Supreme Court so far.
And don’t forget the false data and big lies - bigger then we have had that is coming.
This is real.
Universities and companies and Media must fight back even if licenses are at risk. Kimmel should be reinstated immediately.
Laws to replace norms and procedures to protect institutions and media must be passed but can they? And is there any hope for Justice in the Supreme Court.
All the laws are irrelevant if the Supreme Court can render them illegal or unconstitutional.
We have a dictatorship forming and it is already operating in some sectors.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
