footballmm11 cutting Steve Carlton (who went 23-12 & 14/15 in saves in the sim) tells me that he is specifically avoiding being in the same division as ronthegenius.

Ha, I actually didn't notice that! (Though it is a nice side effect.)

Carlton pitched mostly in Long B behind two tandems, so he picked up a lot of cheap wins. Excluding Dennis Burtt who only threw 28 innings, Carlton was my worst pitcher this season (alongside Doug Corbett)...Carlton was bottom 2 on my team in WHIP, ERA, OPS allowed, and OAV (and 3rd-worst in HR/9).

He also had by far the worst actual stats by ERC# among others. The only other guy I considered cutting was 88 Mike Henneman (who I would have cut for JR Richard), but Henneman has better peripherals and performed better this season. Adding Higuera and cutting Carlton still leaves me with well over 1450 innings.

I'm aware of the marked difference in the real life stats between Carlton and Higuera... and I understand why you made the move...

For what it's worth, these two pitchers had very similar sim stats during the League 8 season. I briefly considered taking Higuera but his mediocre sim stats scared me off.

Yeah, I should probably look at those more, but I usually don't.

I did just look up their performance histories (lower cap obviously), but I'm hoping to get more of this disparity!
