Turn-Around Value on Job Application Topic

I've never thought about this before but I just got a job for #14 Temple in Rockne, one that I felt I had NO chance at getting because my resume sucked in my opinion. In my last four seasons:
I was 40-18.
Didn't make the playoffs in my last two years.
Got booted in round 1 three years ago.
Got booted in round 2 four years ago.
No conference championships during those four years.

The only thing to toot my horn about was taking last season's worst team (UNLV #120) and getting them to #39 this season and missing the playoffs by one win.

When I applied I figured it would be hours, maybe days before that job was filled; not by me but by anyone. Imagine my surprise to see I got the job in less than 30 minutes! Surely someone else applied for that job? If so, chime in because this situation is actually intriguing. Sooooo, I'm wondering if the system puts a high value on taking a crap program and making them good in one year?

Thoughts?

I really doubt that having a good season with a bad team would really propel anything in this game. I would bet more on the fact that not many, if any other coaches actually applied for the position. I think elite jobs will take more time to fill but since it was only a power 5 job, it probably filled at the next cycle if there was only 1 application. Just my opinion.

Too bad GD doesn't provide concrete details as to what all goes in to the hiring decisions and which factors weigh more than others. :(

Oh wouldnt that be nice.
I have a feeling the hiring in the 30 minutes had to do with a couple of factors. One that you applied right before the job process was set to run and quite possibly no one else applied for the opening.
They have said that last 4 seasons of a coach seem to be what they look at and that CC's are a big part of the decision making process.
There was a comment in another thread about Elite qualifications and that it seemed easier to come from D1AA with really success to land an elite. Since CC's seem to play a big part in the hiring process winning CC's in a small conference with all sims plays a bigger role that playing in a large conference with other coach's. Doesnt seem quite right but it is what it is.

Since this game loves to deal out ratings for recruits and classifies teams from elites to high vision and ranks teams (three different ways) for playoffs - why don't they give "stars" for a coach. This could help with recruiting and getting jobs and show how well the coach is doing in relationship to the game.
