Hey all……Buzz Capra played with Tom Seaver, Nolan Ryan, Willie Mays, Henry Aaron and Phil Neikro. Those guys are all in the HoF, in case you’re new to baseball and didn’t pick that up right away.
He was managed by Gil Hodges and Yogi Berra, both also in the Hall, BTW.
That Capra dude was a HOF’er magnet. Yoda once said, “The force is strong in him!” Or he said that about Luke Skywalker….I forget.
And, get this, Buzz also played with Dale Murphy and Dusty Baker. One of those guys will be in the Hall someday and the other was a 2-time MVP and 5-time GG’er in CF and should be getting more Hall consideration than he is.
He even played with Blue Moon Odom. He has a Hall of Fame name! Wait, there’s more: He played with Tommy Agee and Ed Kranepool, too. I loved those guys as a kid. And he played with Biff Pocoroba, the only big league guy ever who had Biff as a first name. Biff Wysong was really named Harlan, in case you wondered.
All of that cool cool HoF stuff related to our man Buzz is clearly the universe’s way of telling you to join the cool cool Capra Leagues.
Our commish isn’t named Biff or Buzz, unfortunately (we just call him “Commish” although I one slipped up and called him Bowie Kuhn), but he’s still a HoF commissioner. No drama in Capra, great competition, no cheating occurs (the Commish banned the 1919 Black Sox, Mark McGwire, Gaylord Perry—also in the Hall—and the 2017 Astros), and we are just plain awesome.
So join up now. You won’t regret it, not even once.
And hurry up, if you would please.
Much appreciated
Moe
