Go the Distance PL is a unique league. The only reason we need an owner is illness has pushed him away from WIS.
We are trying to "Go the Distance..." using the many opportunities MLB has used from 1885 until present.
This is a 16 team league.
The rules are a bit different. Every player in MLB history can be drafted if not already owned. You must have at least one player on your team from every decade and no more than two. IL players do not count.
Active players advance through their career in consecutive seasons beginning with their rookie campaign.
Every season a draft is held for new stadiums. We are hoping to use them all while introducing owners to stadiums they, perhaps, haven't played in or, seen as a visitor. The divisions then are set up by stadium proximity meaning you may, or may not, play against some, or none, of your previous division foes.
There is a double blind bottom 4 grouping for the player draft. Right now, the team that is available, is much better than its standing due to owner inability to participate regularly because of the illness. Currently they will participate in the weighted draft for the first four picks.
55 is the minimum EOS requirement to be eligible for the weighted lottery (no team has ever fallen short). All teams have too much talent to be really bad.
The playoff and World Series teams always select in the last four slots in the draft.
BASIC RULES: IR is standard WIS, 162 game schedule, DH is used, no WW, in season trades allowed (three drafts out), vetoes are standard, injuries on, no clones. All tiebreakers are decided by where the tied teams were slotted the previous season.
Team names are up to the owner but must include the location (ball park or city) they are playing in that season.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED: I will add you to our League Forum and you will be able to read all the rules.
Our available team is listed below. This team is listed as it plays out this WIS season so all players will advance one season. You can shape the future design of the team figuring who you have as a base. There is not limit to keepers. There is a
$140 million hard cap though. (no one has passed it ye).
This team is currently up in the stadium draft -- just awaiting an owner.
