This championship is a long time coming, too. I couldn't believe this when I looked it up, but discodemo has finished in the top 6 for 13 of the previous 14 years without reaching the summit. That's amazing sustained dominance! A bit of 1990s-2000s Atlanta Braves going there, but at long last a title to show for it all.

2 teams choked away the playoffs on the final day, and the remaining 4 all lost in the first round, guess I got lucky to only drop 2 spots

Thanks guys! That was unexpected and lucky. Incredibly tough competition. A few weeks ago I was lamenting that I blew my chances by having two lousy sub .500 teams. A couple of lucky playoff runs makes up for a lot in this game. Sorry jfranco, you had a superb tournament and deserved to win. I've been in jfranco's shoes before; it's frustrating when good teams underperform in the playoffs.

Thanks to redcped, schwarze and ronthegenius for the organizational work and theme ideas. Thanks to mjkrunner also. When we found out that we were in the same division in the 140M draft league, we bounced ideas around about which two franchises to select. The Giants and White Sox turned out to be excellent complementary choices. Mjkrunner's input was invaluable. Ironically, my 140M team ended up winning the tournament-clinching World Series. Thanks Carl Hubbell, I criticized you all season but you came through in the clutch.

Thanks to ozo for putting in the extra prize money and giving me a little more incentive! See you all again next year.
