This reads as any team can draft any P/K from a college mot claimed regardless if your school has an eligible P/K or not... The "and also opens up some flexibility with your 70 mil cap ****" makes that pretty clear I feel like

The rules and the clarification later in the comments seem to indicate that the ST rep doesn't have to be a KR/PR, correct? I could select Bill Bates for example? I will be changing my ST rep regardless. The cheapest D-Jax season is too expensive but I have only found 1 other cheaper option so far and it isn't much cheaper. I am still researching that.

Understood. Nice work on that and excited to see the 5 reps. We have been split on having to use the K/P if there is one available for the school. my feeling is you have to pay for it. And it’s not always a tangible difference for the K/P if you leverage up the offense. If you do want a quality K or P, you tend to want or need a more potent defense for flipping the field and more probable FG accuracy. I think it’s better to be less restrictive on something that is more niche in sim football. Just my humble opinion.

Bill Bates is Tennessee, but it doesn’t have to be a KR/PR no. Just a Cal Bear that played ST in the NFL at some point. I think Terrell Davis was a Denver Bronco ST guy his rookie year for a minute. Useable for the UGA Dawgs, but he is pretty special at RB. Still others options aplenty in that example and plausible if you went Herschel, Hearst, Chubb, Michel or Hampton to name a few.

We are pretty loose on that ST rep. Its just is easier to remember and acknowledge the KR or PR when recalling players. But make it work for you!

I do cross-check every team per pro football reference. Not right away, but in bunches. Normally just small changes where we sitemail. Confusion on where the player last played in college. Another school joins and their pool of K or P is now ineligible for rosters previously claimed and entered.

Tennessee is also available based on your Bates mention. We had a previous person drop them who runs another league and was not truly aligned to join us. Affected our last attempt at this. League. We don’t want to waste people’s time.

The Cal alumni page has kickers, punters and both kickoff return and punt return specialists to choose from. Why have a theme league if exceptions are going to be made arbitrarily?

I was not arbitrarily helping CAL. Hopefully this helps to modify and edit for better consistency and understanding. Thank you Kilgore for pointing this out. You get caught between hosting, promoting and regulating. We have never allowed a ST deviation from the school chosen.

my mention of Tennessee above is if you wanted to use the Vols as your school. Not a mix and match situation. The query was a strange ‘newbie’ ask. Perhaps not so new in asking about something that has not been misunderstood by anyone previously.

I understand, seay. My comment wasn't directed at you, but rather at anyone suggesting the need to use replacements when clearly not necessary.

Rules updated on page 1. Hopefully there is no confusion now on the 5 reps, roster requirements, and the exception for K and P when one or the other isn't available. Not a combo deal either. You must use the players and units that are available in the WIS database for your school (per pro football reference as the official source for the school designation). The school they last played at as a college player.

Examples:

kicker(s) available but no punter. Use your kicker and find a punter NOT from another school within the league.

punter(s) available but no kicker. Use your punter and find a kicker NOT from another school within the league.

Both kicker(s) and Punter(s) available. You use what is available from your school.
