Entered with BYU. Lil short on player personnel but some quality available at certain levels. Wanna see what Puka Nacua can do as he played for my alumni at UDub.

DEF: Kurt Gouveia, MLB 1995 Eagles
OL: John Tait, LT 2000 Chiefs
ST: Chris Farasopolulos, PR 1973 Jets
K: Chris Boswell, Adams State (none available)
P: Lee Johnson
BYU is good to go.

They do have 2 kickers that played in the NFL with Owen Pochman and Dennis Patera- but neither appear in the WIS player pool.

Pochman seemed to have enough qualifying kicks in 6 games in 2003 for SF. Odd.

As an aside, they only have Todd Peterson available for 2003 SF played in 8 games.

Chris Boswell is legit for BYU in this league. For future reference, he belongs to Rice University, who might have a possible team.

****we had previous conversations on Owen Pochman! The name kept saying something to me that I’d seen it before. He brought up the debate on the K/P in 2024 earlier in this thread. I was like, Owen Wilson? Is that what I’m thinking? ****

“So. get your depth charts, general settings, and offensive and defensive sets for each down/distance organized.”

Where do I go to adjust setting, depth charts etc…? When I click on my team all I see is list of players by position, but nothing to click on… thanks

Now that the rosters are public someone who knows what they are doing should make some predictions on what they think will happen. Maybe question some of the builds... I haven't played enough to know any better.

I would suggest against making predictions about teams or players. This provides unnecessary attention to them and could alter gameplans and the like.

There are league leaders and offensive/defensive stats for everyone to look at once the season begins. And of course, you can view the compiling season stats for each team during the preseason, regular, and postseason.

The safe place in my experience is to speak of trends league wide noticed in the team constructions without highlighting a particular team. We would do this in the live draft league commentary forum. tomhanrahan and others would provide breakdowns each season.

That's fair. I used to play a lot of WIS NBA (Not in a while) and it was tradition for the past season champ or another top owner to give predictions and thoughts. Some (like me) would try not to give away strategy while doing so, while others did give away too much, I feel. I understand. It was just a thought.

Couple questions that I’m hoping a vet/s can answer as I am new to this sim. What is the purpose of the practice squad? And is there a way to have more than 5 wrs on the depth chart? There are 5 wr, and multiple 4 wr sets in the playbooks, but it seems to me as a newbie that having just 5 wrs makes it almost impossible to run those formations given they will get tired really fast, thanks

The practice squad is there to call up players when you have injuries- only between games. You will likely use all of them.

Using that option, you might be able to add one and take one off the active depth chart, in order to get the players aligned with your preferred sets. And you can change sets and move players up/down the depth chart at halftime. I once got a progressive team all the way to the SB doing this every game. Bert Jones and Otis Armstrong almost got it done with a low stamina WR group. We lost to Poddy who had Randall Cunningham and Lydell Mitchell. I digress.

Back to the point-- Paying attention to stamina and rotating personnel is important. But don't endanger yourself of forfeiting a game when you can't field enough players by leveraging something too much. It has happened a number of times with injuries. If your guy is 100 durability, he won't get injured. He might get overused and make more mistakes though if you don't have enough support for him. So have enough at each position based on the intended usage. You'll figure it out pretty quickly and you are better to notice your own conclusions. This is where you imagine your own team possibilities and surprise people with something new. This is why the preseason is always important (in my opinion) if you run different teams out each time. Try out different things before the games count.

And the sim will do funny things sometimes for no good reason. But its rare. I once had 18 runs and 3 passes in the first half of a SB. Same sets and settings all year and no issues. Wrong time to skew me like this. Game was over being down 2 TDs. I was run heavy with injury prone Chris Chandler at QB, but not a 6 to 1 run to pass ratio. And wrt injuries, I rolled the dice with the great Montana year of 97 accuracy, but he is 81 durability. He gets hurt in the first half in the SB vs roadhouse. Does not return to the game. No injury all year until then. I monitored his usage big time. Gut punch on that risk in the end. I will say it was really fun though watching Joe be Joe in that run.

Figuring this stuff out or not is the fun of it. A few days away from kickoff!

Go to 'GM Office'
Let's say you have 5 active WRs and 4 active TEs.. You can add a WR from your practice squad to the main roster and send a TE from the main roster to the practice squad.
