I just joined. I have a bunch of questions. But the quick first two: Will one AC scout get their potential? If I just did a few now, when will that go through?

1 AC scout will get their potential, yes. When recruiting first starts, the first round takes 1 day, after that it's every 3 hours.

Thank you!!

Does that get all the scouting you need or do the more you do AC scouting and coach scouting, the more info you get? I think I can find all the other answers somewhere. But I couldn’t find the 2 I asked or that one anywhere

I don't believe doing more is helpful. I only ever do one scout and I get the information I need.

That one scouting message should give you all the info you need. It also counts as a face-to-face contact, and you need one of those for a player to accept your scholarship offer.

Like the other coaches have said, it only takes one scouting visit (Assistant Coach or Head Coach) to give you the letter grade for the recruit's potential (VH, H, A, L, VL).

There are some situations in which there may be some additional info to be gained from sending one additional scout visit (AC or HC).

For example, if you send an AC scout you will get the recruit's potential but you won't get information about his character that only comes from a HC scout. It's not worth the extra $ to send HC scouts to every recruit on your initial list, but it could be worth it to follow up by sending an HC scout to recruits that become your final targets.

Also, there are sub-levels of potential within each letter grade for potential. For example, the AC scouting report might tell you that a recruit has Average potential, but there are three sub-levels of potential within "Average." There are recruits who are on the high end of Average, there are recruits who are truly Average in the middle, and there are recruits who are on the low end of Average. There is a line of text inside the written scouting report that tells you which sub-level of potential HOWEVER sometimes when you send an AC scout you don't get that normal scouting report - instead you only receive the letter grade and you get an email from the recruit himself that might not help you figure out which sub-level of potential that recruit has. The same thing goes for the sub-levels of Low potential and even Very Low potential. [NOTE: My understanding is that High is the only potential that doesn't have sub-levels within it ... but I could be unlearned on that and maybe even High has sub-levels that I'm not yet aware of.]

Most importantly, in those instances where you don't get the full scouting report for a recruit that has VH potential, you need to send another scout (AC or HC) in order to find out if he is one of those rare recruits with "Sky's the Limit" potential.

So, long answer, there are some situations when sending one additional scout visit can get you additional information ... but if you don't send an additional scout visit to pursue that additional info, it really isn't too consequential.

Thank you all!!! So far it seems very similar to the old Hoops Dynasty before it was revamped, but harder because the rosters are bigger because it's football (as I was expecting on the latter part)

Is the potential their potential for growth in overall (eh), or in their position (Which would obviously be more important)?

New users can gain some additional insight and knowledge from veterans via the TTATO videos. These specific tutorials may answer some of your immediate questions. There are a few other threads with good info but caution, some of it's old. Recommed the tutorials and then keep seeking help from us in the forum. GLTROTW!

It's their overall growth potential. How they grow depends largely on your practice plan as well as maintaining their happiness (if you promise them starts, you best start them or that work ethic will drop and they won't grow as much).

I don't put much stock in the scouting report, only use the scouting to get the potential. I rely on the position score to evaluate a recruit.

Dont forget their Work Ethic. Their Growth depends on IMO: Playing Time, WE and Potential.

This will help when you're ready.
